I ordered a hamburger from a tiny corner shop in Slovakia. I think they might have just nuked a raw patty to warm it up...this thing was pretty raw...lol. I did not go back. Instead I ate a lot of schnitzel, gyros, and pizzas...lol.

They aren't bad actually. Had one about two years back and was surprised. Everything there isn't that good. Of course we have a local place with 1/2 lb burgers that taste even better for just a bit more.

I think a lot of people who think In N Out is "meh" don't keep the price in mind. I don't think you can find a burger for $2.65 that tastes anywhere near as good. I'd like to give Five Guys a try, but at $13-15 for a burger and fries (with no drink) I've never bothered.

Hamburg Steak...from Hamburg Germany was a minced beef steak (ground beef) brought to the USA with German immigration. Hence...HAMBURGER. We just threw it between two bread rolls and added the fixin's. smile

Oi, they are Belgian fries
Belgium is the home of the friet biggrin

Well it is an on going dispute between Belgium and France, there is allegedly a document from 1781 mentioning the frying of potato batons in the French speaking Ardennes region of Belgium.

Ok so if technically they should be called "Belgian fries" why did most of Western society decide to call them "French fries"?

Hmmmm..maybe then it's not really "Belgian waffles" but "French waffles"??? biggrin

There are many types of waffle here, at least 12 varieties, (and the French call them gaufre by the way) with the most popular being Luikse wafel (gaufres de chasse or Liége waffles)
