Kydex or leather, DO NOT get one of those "Uncle Mikes" style fabric holsters.
I used to carry my Makarov in an Uncle Mikes nylon holster for years, no issues. What do you not like about them?
Clip Draw looks good, just not sure about how secure that would be.
What Bill said.
With a striker fired pistol, you should have solid protection for the trigger (and thus the trigger mounted safety).
I would recommend against using a Clipdraw Belt Clip alone. If you used it in conjunction with their
Trigger Safety Products, that could work... except they do not appear to offer them for the Taurus PT111 G2.
A good kydex based holster is almost certainly your best bet. Of the kydex based holsters, there are two main approaches:
- A kydex clamshell where the kydex is folded around the gun shape. For example
https://www.foxxholsters.com/collections/frontpage/products/deluxe-trapp-holster-kydex - A kydex and (usually) leather hybrid that keeps the kydex off of your body. For example
https://www.foxxholsters.com/collec...rustic-hybrid-holster?variant=1197345645 The former will generally require less belt real estate, and possibly not as much oversizing of your pant's waist size to accomodate it. However, it will be less comfortable for day long wear, as the kydex is right up against you without any padding, (other than your skivvies).
The latter may prove to be more comfortable, providing your pant size allows the extra room.
If you go with the latter, be sure to keep an eye on the wear and tear of the leather (or whatever) material on the inside. If it loses rigidity up on the top edge, it could eventually pose a threat of folding over into the trigger guard when reholstering.
--------------
Whichever way you go, you may want to look for the ability to adjust the kant of the holster. Some of the simpler clamshell designs have a fixed kant, which may not match up well with some of your attire / styles.
Another feature you may wish to look for is an extended tab on the grip side of the holster, such as
https://clingerholsters.com/product/no-print-wonder-holster-2/ which can pull the pistol's butt in closer to your body, for better concealment.
Make sure the holster has adjustable tension (nearly all of them do these days).
--------------
The other thing you want to do is get a proper belt designed for carrying a holstered pistol. Do not skimp on that, as a cheap/thin belt will not keep the weight of a loaded handgun in place consistently.
