I know it can be disgusting to some...but perfectly cooked McDonald's french fries are a beautiful thing. A light golden brown, fresh, hot and melts in your mouth. I put the odds of getting them perfect at the drive thru at about 1 in 25 trips.
I hit the drive through by my work maybe once every two weeks for convenience, and today the fries were perfect. BUT...my quarter pounder with cheese was also perfect, fresh and so hot it almost burned my mouth a little. The odds of hitting this McDonald's lotto in the drive through is too steep to contemplate. At the rate I go there, I will probably never experience this again in my lifetime.

I get a cheat meal once a week, and it’s pretty much always a cheeseburger. I’m not big on McD’s though. Usually Whataburger, Steak & Shake, or a pick up at Outback. Fries...often worse to eat than the burger so I avoid them. Arby’s curly fries, however, are friggin amazing.

Most of the fast food places...eating the bag it came in would be healthier...but it's about convenience since I only get a half hour for lunch. Limits my choices.

I’m not judging! Hard to deny the convenience factor. I once saw an interview with a lady that was 110 or so. They asked her what the most impressive thing she’d seen is. She said it was so amazing that these days you drive up to a building, say what you want to eat, and by the time you drive around the building, your food is waiting for you. She said that would’ve been unbelievable in the time when she was little.
To each his own I guess....but to me , the things that McDonald s, and Burger King and Wendy's etc pass off as 'fries' ( chips up here ) are abominable. I just came home from the local chip shop after having a lovely cod and chips. .....not little skinny , over salted, over cooked bits of cardboard....but proper chips ; as big as your index or middle finger and fried just right

Well sure...but were they done in 90 seconds while you waited in your car? That's the point I was trying to make...so let's not get into comparing McDonalds to the Four Seasons restaurant. There are 6 billion other places that make food better...we don't need to get into that.

I don't understand the McD here in the UK. The Big Mac is supposed to be BIG.... but it isn't. Then they introduced a Giant Big Mac or some funny name like that; I thought I'd give it a try.... the patties are thinner than what I'd get in a Quarterpounder; I estimate I'm getting the same amount of cardboard, err... beef, just in two slices rather than one. Really disappointing.
I do like the fries though. Back to Quarterpounder meals for me. Not that I eat there very often anyway.

The Big Mac's gimmick is the bun in the middle. The patties were always the same size as their standard hamburger/cheeseburger.

Not the way they were made in the Philippines! You'd have to squish the burger down, flatten it somewhat, in order not to lock your jaw when trying to eat it!

I will go to the McDonald's drive thru when I don't have much time for lunch. I order the Artisan Grilled Chicken which has no mayo but is quite juicy. I substitute a side salad for the fries at the same price. Newman's own Lite Italian dressing is quite spicy. Medium diet coke. Total of 400 calories, not much fat, but lots of sodium. Not that bad health wise for McDonald's food, though some will say that trying to eat healthy there defeats the purpose.

I made the horrifying mistake of looking up the ingredients to McD's fries. Not recommended if you want to keep eating them.

The problem with this is that I could have driven to McDonalds down the street and ordered and ate them all by the time this dude finished cutting those potatoes. And it would be about 1/10th the price.

I agree about the time it takes but not the price anymore when a large fries costs around $2.69. It came as a such a shock to me that for the first time in my life I actually cancelled the order and went through the drive through without buying anything.
