Overall DCS 2.5 is really good , lots of things need work sure but nothing too serious.
Is it? To my mind it seems that a staggering 5 years of development of 2.5 has resulted in essentially an Instagram filter slapped over the visuals, and a bought in 3rd party Tree tool liberally paintbrushed over some massively simplified ground textures. The fact that this has broken cockpit display screens, the load times are glacial and a black hole of a memory leak was somehow missed in that 5 years+ of development is just the cherry on the bakewell!
I do wonder if all this bumfuckery is starting to hit ED in the pocketbook, as there seems to be a big drive in 'community engagement' and unbelievably, crew chiefs and aerodynamicists aren't being banned from the ED forums for pointing out errors (for the time being!)
oh please, if you are going to start placing people and not their comments into that category, I would accept the torrent of abuse you waste in uploaded bandwidth only IF I had been part of the VEAO team which I am not, there for your outburst is completely uncalled for.
I am happy to quote myself in this saga and give a prime example\s of the term "waste in uploaded bandwidth" for the next member here who feels the need to burst a perpetual s**t valve aimed entirely at other members.
and here are some of the prime responses supporting the complete waste of bandwidth on a locked topic.
(mind you, feel free to quote this post when the next member here takes aim and fires off a few rounds aimed at another member and not the topic at hand.
and as you can see....you can draw more inspiration as to the terminology "waste in upload bandwidth" from this thread here.

I have no idea. There is no definite schedule.

It's not an 'experimental' build at all.....this is supposed to be a beta release close to resembling their 'release' version.
You are wrong. You are substituting reality with your wishes.
I'll refresh you with a link to the DCS Update which described this......link

The 2.5.0 “Release” version will launch a week or two later, depending on how the Open Beta release goes
Well, we all know how the beta has gone....it's been a shocker, it clearly wasn't tested in any logical way otherwise the most basic errors would have been found including the huge memory leak. The 'Release' version hasn't launched a week or two after the beta release and looks unlikely to be release for several months, probably years given the amount of problems people have. Not really sure why you're trying to defend this. ED are incompetent. Simple.
You may want to describe this too, how on earth did this not get found?

I agree, but when there is over 5 years of development together with a statement that their team has been hard at work testing and a release version that follows shortly after an open beta you would like to think that there has been an element of testing and ED are confident that the beta is reasonably mature.......and not the clusterf**k that actually happened.
Exactly what did the ED team test?....because every single thing about the beta has massive flaws and bugs.

My guess is the testers have had access to the Hornet for probably 3-6 months.....that is where the time has been spent, 2.5 was placed on the back burner the moment the 'official testers' had access to download and test it.

If you want to beta test, beta test and shut up about the inconvenience. Otherwise stick to the playable version which at this time is 1.5.8.
It's not a "wish", it's a logical assumption based on ED's statement. If you release a Beta that is just come from a closed Alpha, do you expect a Release date that is 1-2 weeks after? Nope, because this fresh Beta will clearly need a lot of work. A **LOT** of work. But no, ED stated Beta release followed by Release version 1-2 weeks after, therefore hinting that the Beta release only needed minor bug-squishing and would be done.
The people who beta-tested expected a close-to-release version, not an early-beta build, and thus the complaints. If ED knew what they were doing and were competent in gauging work progress, we'd hae 2.5 Release version now. But we don't. Hence the complaints.

Wait, what??? After all that, it was just a trial period of Sith? So what's the difference now? He gets paid?

Testing should be part of **ANY** work, that is if you care about putting out a quality product and not tarnish your company name. Not doing so just clearly shows how much value they put in their "valued customers."
Just because you're happy with things as they are.....
And they'll release the hornet into this #%&*$# show and folk will still buy it in the hope that one day, eventually, oh god please do, ED will finally get their act together. Sith is the "comical ali" of the Gaming world. 'Everything is great' 'we're winning'. Nobody believed that clown why do they believe this one? I have my theory.
DCS Kickstarter Wags July 2014 "In this July 2014 update, the primary news is in regards to the restructured backer rewards. After a careful review of the older system under RRG, we found it financially unattainable." Wags October 2017 "the investment vs. generated revenue has been excellent for the World War II aircraft. In fact, the P-51D Mustang has twice the cost effectiveness of the A-10C Warthog."
I was not serious , but yes they should test more I may have to use sarcasm smiley or something.
Sorry, missed that entirely

Ironically, your continued tolerance of their practices is contributing to the continuation of their practices....

Sorry, he continues his role as moderator for ED but he thinks it's worth a name-change? Me thinks there's an underlying reason to it.... and it's not what he said it was.

My Gosh...talk about spreading someone thin! That is a lot of responsibilities for one person! I hope their developement team isn't spread as thin as this...maybe they are and that could be why certain fixes/updates come out at a glacial pace. IMO of course.

They probably had to lay a few folk off due to very poor sales and now comical ali has to do the job of 5 folk and he's probably doing it for free
