Nutty, eh? biggrin

I sometimes use the expression, "...the cat's ass!"
https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=cats%20ass

In this case it's too literal, "Tried a cup of Kopi luwak and it was the cat's ass!"

Turkish, Kurukahveci Mehmet Efendi specifically.

I used to hate coffee, and I still am not a fan anything else. Almost universally I find coffee to be too bitter, and have a burnt taste. This includes things that are coffee flavored. Turkish when done correctly, doesn't get the grinds hot enough to cause that bitterness and it has a nice smooth flavor.

Until you try it, it is different. I would never have tried it myself but I was given a cup of it from my daughter in law's father when we went to meet the in-laws, they had recently been over in Indonesia on holiday and had brought a few bags of the coffee back with them. My daughter brought a bag of it home with her and gave it to me when her and her husband returned from their holiday there.

Now I'm wondering if one of the other kids is going out there and if they can bring me a few bags back.... biggrin

Folgers Special Roast or one of the other Folgers that comes in a brick. Then some kind of flavored creamer like French Vanilla. Load it in my Keurig reusable pod.

Or, Cafee Llave espresso made in my Bialetti stovetop coffee maker with some cream and Splenda. And by cream, I mean heavy or whipping cream.

The issue is not p*ssy. The issue is monkey.

My coffee tastes are very pedestrian. Foldger's or Maxwell House - the "breakfast roast," which is what used to be "the only roast we made." Thanks to the Starbucks fad, every company seems to think that most people prefer coffee made from the charcoal remains of beans.

Served black or with some CoffeeMate sometimes. But the flavor of the creamer is....creamer.

I used to be a cream and sugar guy. Then about 30 years ago while I was working for a landscape company out on a jobsite in February when it was maybe 35 degrees the boss comes driving up with coffee for everyone, but he has no cream or sugar. Given that I was cold down to my bones I took the black coffee just to warm up and drank every drop, I've never used cream and sugar since.

Has anyone ever tried the elephant dung variety? I would probably try brewed elephant beans but I wouldn't want to try something that passed through a cat. Is there even a noticeable difference between the non-elephant consumed bean and the ones found in elephant dung? If the beans got digested there wouldn't be anything to brew so because they aren't digested, how is it that it tastes any better or different than the same bean brewed that wasn't eaten and passed by an elephant? Is the elephant version more expensive and if so why? I would think the elephant dung version should receive a discount. biggrin

Classic, could not agree more since giving up the evil bean.

My version of cat crap coffee was my computer desk used to sit near the litter box. Cat takes her morning dumped and fills the air with her "potpourri"... drinking coffee while taking that scent up the nostrils... gag. Cat crap and coffee... they should use it on the guests at Gitmo.

We mostly like Community (a local brand) and New England, mail delivered from MA (flavors in grocery stores are limited)...

Community is pretty much the usual standby here too.
For the Keurig, I like the Paul Newmans cups. Tully’s Italian is really good.
Cafe du Monde and French Quarter with chickory are great, but I have to order them now that Kroger stopped getting it.

Chock full o' Nuts, original roast, black. I drink about two pots of this stuff a day...drinking it as I type, actually.

I mainly drink black, old style boiled coffee. smile

Nothing better when you're out in the woods, or mountains for that matter.

When I was over in Canada my friend blended Costco vanilla coffee beans with hazelnut coffee beans and ground them fresh, it was a very nice cup of coffee but I would not like to drink it every day

This thread had me thinking back and looking at my pic archives.

We use to love CoffeeAM (ordered online and delivered). I don't remember why we stopped buying it, I need to ask...

I'd also forgotten that we use to grind our own beans, guess we got lazy...

RK, I didn't know Community Coffee had made it out of the Bayou. Growing up, the plant was within walking distance of our house, smells better brewing than when they're processing it.

A cup of Community with sweet potato pie, I need to find out why that's not happening lately... smile

I've ground my own beans some but I really couldn't taste much of a difference.

Don't want to waste the extra time to grind my own beans. My time is worth more to me than maybe getting a slightly better taste. smile

Basic black, do not care much for most flavored coffees. On Mondays, it should be almost thick enough to stand the spoon uo in
