So, what is your favorite live album to listen to?

Not talking about concert movies, just the audio experience.

My top 5 would include:

1. Queen - Live at Wembley 1986
2. Dire Straits - Alchemy
3. Kiss - Alive
4. Jean-Michel Jarre - Destination Docklands
5. Bruce Springsteen - Live 1975-85

The last is not just one concert, but it's still an awesome album.

MUSE - Hullabaloo

MUSE - H.A.A.R.P

A band that is better live in my opinion.(seen them live twice but can't go again because it does me no good)

I don't really have a favorite, as long as it's Rush.

Saw Neil Young in Toronto for the Weld Tour ( Ragged Glory ), absolutely amazing. Nobody can make distortion sound as good as Neil. Especially with Crazy Horse.

Scorpions: "World Wide Live"

Saw the Scorpions at the Monsters Of Rock concert in LA in 88...and it was just as great as this album that came out 3 years before. smile

Scorps Live is a great choice Weaz band

3 of us drove down to Tampa, FL from Clarksville, TN in a little yellow Honda Civic (aka The Biscuit) to see the Monsters of Rock show there.
We heard Kingdom Come from the parking lot, Dokken is one of my favorites but don't really remember much of their set, all I really remember from Metallica is the huge mosh pit, Van Hagar rocked (especially on Sammy's songs) but at the end of the day The Scorpions blew everyone away.

Looked up the WIki (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monsters_of_Rock_Tour_1988) of the tour and I def do not remember a lot of this stuff:

"In Tampa, a stadium-wide food fight took place. The show was general admission and the food fight took place between the concertgoers in the stadium stands and those on the field. Police around the perimeter of the field were being hit with bottles and garbage and eventually had to leave the stadium. The front field was so jammed with people they were starting to pass out and had to be passed to the front of the crowd and pushed over the rails to safety. They also had to spray the crowd in the front of the stage with firehoses to cool them down. Dokken also had issues with their PA system, it was broadcasting on the same frequency as Tampa International Airport's tower."

here is what they had on the LA show, any of this ring a bell with you?

"In Los Angeles, the power was shut off during Metallica's set because fans were aggressively rushing the stage. The members of Metallica sat on the drum riser and watched. After a short break, they resumed their set. Fifteen people were arrested. Metallica's following act Dokken would come over severe ridicule from the thrash metalheads in the crowd for not matching Metallica's intensity."

reading the Wiki of the tour Dokken really caught a lot of flak

David, I was stuck in LA traffic while trying to get to the Coliseum and missed Kingdom Come (but that's okay) and showed up in the stands luckily as the fans rushed the field. It was pretty crazy! smile

It was also very hot and sunny that day so they kept telling everyone to drink water and lay off of the beer...lol. Also were spraying fans with water hoses from the stage area.

I agree though, Scorpions stole the show even though Van Hagar was the headliner.

Saw Scorpions in 1984 in Toronto. Great show, only the second concert ever at that point. I was 16. Saw them again in 1994, I remember walking in as Klaus Meine started singing Coming Home. It gave me chills. His voice still sounds great today. One of the great, unique sounding vocalists.

Not Toronto, but from the 94 Tour.

My brother had that, but like you I could never get in to it.

Frampton had a look the girls liked, but could also play well. Kind of like Brad Paisley (Country), I guess. His concerts are tolerable to me because he's actually an excellent guitarist (see Time Warp instrumental).

A couples of others off that album that IMO are pretty good, I don't know the rest of it...

Add "I'm In You" to the set-list and I can see some 70's date night concert potential there. wink
