I agree completely! No other sim gives me the feeling of being in a war, trying to survive. The single player campaign is second to none by far! Its what I always wanted CFS3 to be. Out of all the sims I've ever flown, beginning with F-22 Raptor on Sega Genesis, thru sims like SWOTL, 1942: The Pacific Air War, European Air War, Red Baron 2, and so on, and so on. (You all know, we have to get every flight sim ever made cause, well, you know, just because!!!) I will say that Falcon 4 BMS is the only other sim to give me that feeling of "Being there", But I still to this day continue to try and get better with that super deep sim. (Yep, I have the original Squadron Leader Special Edition Binder) So, since my main interest in flight simming is WW2, you can imagine how excited I am with WOTR. Just Can't wait!!!!

It's the little behavioral quirks that get me sometimes, I feel like I'm not the only one fighting to stay alive. You can be attacked by two or three scouts, isolate one and outmaneuver him only to see him try every trick in the book to escape.
(Generally resulting in me chasing him over the lines low and getting archied because I'm an idiot who never learns)
That and just how difficult it is to stay focused, in formation, on course and still have enough awareness to spot and identify enemy aircraft before they jump you. (SweetFX helps with that I find, I'm blind without the contrast enhancement) And then, let's say your target gets away, you stand a fair chance of seeing that same guy again and being able to identify him through his unique and historically accurate paint scheme. It's like Biggles come to life for me.
Let's pretend I got the BWOC badge to embed here.

I have to agree with you all. I'm probably one of the youngest members around (46) and WOFF and before it OFF has taught me so many things. I started with OFF p2 then after frequenting the forums over at Combat Ace,and meeting the great people over there I was caught in the OFF trap Once OFF P3 came along with H.T.I.R expansion I knew then that I was hooked. I never thought that P3 would ever be bettered..how wrong I was. WOFF UE is arguably the greatest single player sim I've ever experienced. I bought WW1 books, (No Parachute,Saggitarius rising,Winged Victory,Open Cockpit) amongst others. Reading these incredible men's stories has made more more humble as a person it truly has. I never in a million years would have purchased these titles without this incredible sim..I'm so glad I did. If I'm walking in the woods with my lad I often look up into the sky and wonder what it must have been like for them gentlemen from all sides to be up there. It's lightly snowing here as I write this with a temp of 1 degree Celsius,I shudder at the thought of being up there thousands of feet in a bit of wood and wire I'm surprised they didn't freeze to death. The forum is also one of if not the best on the net, from friendly advice from members,to the brilliant Modders who continue to improve this sim. Thanks to Duke who created this thread (Great thread sir) but the biggest thanks go to OBD in creating these sims. Absolutely phenomenal work. Take care guys, and stay safe

Well, this seems like a good thread to make my reappearance in WOFF UE with all the wonderful mods that people have created is undeniably briliant! I struggled a little toward the end of my last challenge (Fokker Scourge) due mostly to sub par PC performance. I decided to take a break from WOFF and wait until I could upgrade a few components. Now I'm back with a new mobo and i5 8700K, and things are rocking! Mind you, I wasn't completely absent from the virtual skies. I was busy for a while making my modest contribution to the upcoming WOTR (don't ask - my lips are sealed). I have a feeling that thing is going to be incredible, but I suspect I'll still be flying these old birds often as well. Great to see everyone again, plus hello to the more recently joined pilots! Great to see this community still growing! Harry
