Need some help please. My Warthog worked great on this computer with no problems until now. Nothing has changed except for Windows updates but now while my Warthog stick still works fine the throttle stopped working all together. It doesn't even show up in Target. Under devices I get "Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)". Any help getting it back up would be greatly appreciated.

First the gimble on the stick now this. The CH stuff I've had for well over 10 years is still working as well as it did when new. I thought I was getting better gear but that is definitely not the case.

Well, if it's worked before and stopped working after a Windows update, have you tried rolling back to your previous version of Windows? Tried plugging the throttle in a different computer? What "gimble" are you talking about?

The bricking issue is very old news and was teething pains of the WH and some motherboards when the WH first came out. I doubt it's that problem especially since the OP said it was working previously.

What I called the gimble was actually the plastic piece that holds the little magnet the makes the stick work..It broke free so the magnet was just floating around and the stick would twist around. That was taken care of a while ago. This with the throttle just happened. I tried two different computers with the same results. The lights blink. The computer sees that something was plugged in but it can't recognize what it is.

The plastic gimbal was broken:

http://SimHQ.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/4329348/1

Probable during the event some wire from sensor PCB was cut out, why stick are not detected, or maybe the loose magnet are short-circuit PCB trails.

Better stop to plug in computers - risk made things more worse, and contact Thrustmaster for replacement parts. Probable initially they will try sell you another complete base or stick. smile

Well, did you use an extension mod? Or did it break by itself? IME, those that break the gimbals use extension mods which therefore puts more load on the gimbals, loads it wasn't designed to take. TM could've used better materials, yes, but that's bridge under the water. Have you tried re-flashing the firmware on the throttle? Or plugging it in on a computer that does NOT use the latest version of Windows?

The broken stick was a couple years ago. All fixed. This is new. The part that really sucks is now I'm back to my old faithful CH Pro Throttle and while it still works great I miss all the functions on the WH throttle.
I wish CH would come out with a dual throttle with more buttons.

Yes all of them and some I found online. Guess It's back to Thrustmaster. Out of warranty so it's probably not going to be cheap.

No, you didn't miss anything. I built that a few years ago. I call it a ProThrottle+. CH Products has it now. What they do with it, is up to them.
