Very cool. I bet he was feeling absolutely great getting to fly again.

I can't believe the video has 4 "dislikes". Incredible.

Loved the line "It's amazing how little you have forgotten"
When Art Fiedler was being interviewed after the 2008 Camarillo airshow for the 325th documentary "Checkertails" he was talking about the P-51 and flying it when one of the interviewers mentioned he thought that with a check list Art could "steal" the P-51 that they had seen flown at the airshow earlier that day. Without missing a beat Art said he wouldn't need a check list. biggrin

I meet and heard Bud Anderson speak a couple of years ago and he was sitting there about 10 feet from me describing a particular dogfight he was involved in. He held his hands out in front of his face "flying" them as the dogfight progressed, the German climbed and he followed closing in and Anderson paused for just a second and said "I can see him right now" and you could hear in his voice and see in his face that he indeed could see that German aircraft in his mind just as clearly as he had seen it in his eyes 70+ years before. I believe there are things that burn into your memory that you just don't forget.

These United States of America
Boy that got my tears going a bit. I wish I had another word for how beautiful that was. Its so great to see this and to know that there are folks doing these kinds of things for the vets. This was also beautifully shot. I don't think I've ever seen aerial filming look so soft and smooth. I suppose it was taken from that helicopter. I'm thankful they did this for this man. It reminds me a of a great Highway to Heaven episode where Michael Landon's angel character gets a WW2 vet back up in the air and the man's deceased Vietnam veteran son joins him in the cockpit and they fly off to eternity together again.
