Hey guys..
I have just gotten through reading a book called Apache Sunrise (great book!), and it's basically all about the Apache Troop heli squadrons based out of Vietnam in 1969-70.
My one question involves a tactic they used involving a "Pink" Team as they called it, where Cobra gunships flew cover for smaller scout helicopters as they scouted out the terrain in search of VC and NVA bunkers. This tactic proved to be rather dangerous for the scout pilots, and for that reason, not many people ever signed up for that duty. Considering they had to fly so close to the ground, they were an easy target for incoming .51 caliber antiaircraft fire.
So I guess my question just comes down to this - do you think a tactic like that could be accurately represented in a simulation? I think it might produce some heart-stopping action...
Just curious!
