Thanks for the response Snake...will my existing code meter stick still work with the newest SB version?
At least it can be made to.
You may need to update the CM stick's firmware at some point. This requires the latest CM runtime software to be installed ... which happens after installing SB pro PE 4.023, or by downloading and installing it
directly from the CodeMeter support site. Open the CodeMeter Control Center, (on the left) select the stick, then click the circular arrow button (on the right) to start the procedure, and follow the on-screen instructions (which basically are: "Don't touch anything until it's over")
So, that isn't too complicated. Maybe you have done it before already.
Next thing is to order the upgrade license. Since you are starting from SB Pro PE 2.4, the "old upgrade" option is required which will essentially put a 3.0 license on your stick, and a 4.0 license. Here you need to keep in mind that the 4.0 license requires the 3.0 license to be on the stick already, so you need to unselect the 4.0 entry on the ticket on the first activation attempt. Once completed, activate a second time to add the 4.0 upgrade, and that's it.
UNLESS you are one of those special cases (1st generation CM stick with no license upgrade later). In which case the attempt to activate the ticket will generate an "internal error". If that is the case with you, please contact me. It's easy to fix but requires my assistance.
