Due to the recent CG Fed rank has been waived for Fed ships up to the Federal Gunship, there is also a discount which stacks with li yong rui's discount. You did not have to participate in the CG to get the benefits, I logged on and bought the ships and I think I am cadet rank for the feds.

Shame it's only for the gunship, I've been eying a corvette for months but the last rank is such a grind...

I've had a good bit of fun with the FAS. I had just gained rank and purchased the FGS before the CG waiver began, but it's also an interesting, but very different, ship. Either is worth checking out for anyone with interest and the money to outfit them (mine cost about $100 million each, fully outfitted).
