Speaking of bathing cats, we had an orange tabby that was an outdoor/indoor cat. So, one evening he comes in having had a encounter with a skunk. He got sprayed good too. My wife and I were the ones who were close to puking. Anyway, we had been told to bath the cat in tomato juice to help kill the skunk smell. So, I run to the grocery and pick 3 or 4 quart cans of the red stuff. We had no place to do this outdoors, so we put him in the tub/Jacuzzi in the master bath, which was all white tile. He didn't like it one bit, and of course every time we'd get him soaked down in tomato juice, he'd slip loose and run around the bath shaking the juice everywhere.

Our white bathroom looked like we slaughtered a pig or something, but believe it or not the juice worked. There was still a skunk smell, but not nearly as strong and after we got the juice washed off it was a even better. He finally settled down, and we put him in the laundry room for the night, By the next day, the odor was much fainter and we put him outside for the day. We figured he knew to avoid skunks from then on. Anyway, now you know what to do if one of your animals has a run in with a skunk.
