Hi,

I just loaded up my original Il-2 Sturmovik simulator. I used to just do dogfighting in the quick mission creator, but I now want to do some of the missions included in the same.

I cannot figure out how to navigate from my origin to the target of the mission.

Is there a simply way to do it?

I saw a youtube video which said I needed to use speed charts etc...that is way beyond my since my time is limited.

Is there a more simple way? Even if it is a "cheat" or not native to the time period, I am ok with it.
Any sort of moving map?

Thanks!
Juggernaut

I believe you have a map option, where you can track your route through the waypoints. At least you can do that on later versions.

Another more realistic and fun way is to contact "ground control" (usually TAB, 9) and ask for "vector to target" (3).

In original IL2 there's an icon on the minimap indicating your position, as far as I remember. Your flightplan is also indicated on minimap.
If it is not, check difficulty settings.
Finally, some of the planes (germans and US mainly) have a needle indicating next waypoint. In more recent versions (ie 1946) the needle points to a ground beacon, in older versions to the next waypoint.

Great!

I will look deeper and find the map and beacon and vector options.

Thanks a lot!
