Just got my first pair, and my life is transformed. I can here every sound. Even in a crowded room with music, I hear every word. I can even hear myself breathing, even the keyboard sounds different.

These are top of the range, big bucks, but they contain microprocessors that analyse and filter every sound, getting rid of any "noise". My Tinnitis has gone. The steamwhistle in my head has gone silent for the first time in decades. It will take a couple of weeks for my brain to catch up on processing all the new data, then back to the doc for fine-tuning.

I never knew I was so deaf. Apparently I was getting about one word in three or four and my brain filled in all the spaces, sometimes with hilarious results.

Anybody else had this experience?

And his ghost may be heard if you pass by that billabong
"Who'll come a Waltzing Matilda with me?"

Good on you Max !

I have not, but my father-in-law just got his first pair too. Transformed his life for the best with the exact same results as you have.
He also tells everyone to stop screaming when talking to him biggrin We had all picked bad habits !!!

Cheers,
Slug

Good to hear the positive experiences. I am about 40% deaf in one ear (live music is surely to blame for some of it) and I know I will need them sooner of later.

Wore hearing aids since 2 years of age. Be warned though, there may be co-workers or buddies who may become total jerks towards you when they expose their "deaf and dumb" attitude.

Seriously??? I need to look into this, my hearing is a bit poor but I can live with it but the Tinnitus I would love to be rid of!

Would think my hearing would be bad after all the noise over the years. But I find myself every once in while having hyper sensitive hearing.
Would down into garage and the heaters are running and normally would hardly notice them except when this happens. It sounds more like
a jet engine and I must retreat its so loud. Same in the car, car radio suddenly way to loud. Its a strange sensation when this happens and I
sure look forward to it being normal again.

Glad you are able hear what you have been missing Max.

Now you have no excuse when the wife tells you to do something. winkngrin

There was only 16 squadrons of RAF fighters that used 100 octane during the BoB.
The Fw190A could not fly with the outer cannon removed.
There was no Fw190A-8s flying with the JGs in 1945.
