Hi folks. In my work as a software tester, we use Slack to communicate with other developers and team members that work in different sites.

Slack is an instant messenger app, but you can create various channels for different topics.

I've also used Discord, which is more game orientated, but pretty much the same thing.

Do you think it would be useful to have one of these set up, probably Discord as it's game related?

My main reason for using it, would be to have more real-time conversations about development things. The forum is good for most things, but working on some things for mods, sometimes a quick answer would be better.

Let me know if you think it'd be useful, and I'll set one up.

That's a good idea. I looked at Discord and it looks like it is able to run on my system. I could only run such apps via laptop.

I'm a totally noob with smart phones ( I really hate touchscreens I'm a keyboard fan boy hahaha ) and only use a stone aged cell phone, so nothing smart here. But as far as my son just told me (he is the guy with the knowledge here) Discord is able to run at my laptop, I only need the browser version, because of the installed Vista.

I'm running my internet in a Vmware which is based on Vista 64 Business. This VM on the other hand runs under Windows 64 Professional which is completely isolated from the web and my real working area.

I did this at all my computers, except the ones that are in my homepit. As I get some very cheap Vista licences at ebay and Win 7 Pro was much more expensive back those days, I decided to use Vista because it only should run the internet. Not the best idea, I know, but it was a matter of money. I have just bought some new licences for W7 Pro to change this, but hadn't much desire to do it until now, cause alot has to be adjusted. Never touch a running system biggrin
