Tried every avenue, registry cleans, putting all usb devices out of sleep mode.

The grey buttons problem surfaces every time.

Out of ideas.

Now waiting on a fix from CH Products as my CH HOTAS is now a paper weight on my desk.

Questions:

When installing Control Manager, did you have your virus protection off?

Are your controllers plugged into the MB or a HUB? If a HUB, is the HUB powered?

Does Windows "see" your controllers?

Gooday Ghost. The CH hanger has lots of complaints on this issue. I tried sending a PM to Bob Church ... so far no reply basic contents of the pm which clearly show the issue as follows:

I and heaps of users have real issues with CH manager and Windows 10. Basically as soon as you attempt to download a profile it drops out of mapped mode and all three blue connection icons go blank. CH manager is then non functional. You cant click on the calibration button in an attempt to get to the rescan button as CH manager just locks up. Attempting a rescan for hardware changes through Device manager doesn't work either.

On the odd occasion after one of these crashes of CH manager it suddenly sorts itself out and recognizes the CH devices, though this is very rarely. The only way I can consistently get CH manager to stay working and download a mapped profile is to restart the PC. As soon as I see the CH manger desktop icon click on it select a profile and download it. This stiil might require multiple PC restarts but eventually it works. I (and others) have tried every possible means to fix this ... multiple uninstalls and reinstalls, cleaning registry entries, trying powered hubs, ensuring connection via USB 2 ports etc ... nothing works.

I have tried contact a couple of people in CH but the replies basically say some are working ok in WIN10 and anyway CH manager is not required to run the CH devices as direct DX units !! My beloved CH units are useless to me with out being able to use CH manager profiles. There are countless people complaining on the CH hangar but no response from CH.

IvanK,

Bob, has retired so don't expect a reply, anytime soon, if ever.

Thank you for your reply. From time to time I too have these issues (yes, even me). Worst part about it, I also have a CH Products DT225 TrackBall (TB). So, when CM quits working, so does my TB. I then have to do a hard shutdown. Restart the computer, and try again. This *usually* works.

As far as *needing* Control Manager, you don't *really* need Control Manager as the devices are plug and play USB (preferably 2) HIDs. You can set up your controllers in the Game Options w/o using CM as Direct X buttons/axes. BUT, I agree, CM, is by far (when working) the most powerful programming software for any HID. Though, only for CH Products.

Sorry for the late reply.

I have them now plugged into the motherboard.

I disable the firewall and Defender in Windows 10.

My Powered usb gave me no issues in Windows 7 or issue s that I couldn't fix myself.

But in Windows 10,I have turned off sleep mode in all my usb devices and also disabled the USB suspend in my Ryzen chips power option settings.

It is when I download a map,Windows 10 removes the HOTAS from game devices.

Anyway ,it happens if I load another map.

I can reboot and the devices usually get seen again but sometimes they don't so I reinstall CH Manager again.

No need to re-install Control Manager. Just re-open it select the .map and download it. Then, exit Control Manager.

Well after a LOT of frustration I think compatibility mode (either Win7 or 8) seems to be working.
