Here in Newfoundland its Armistice Day , Remembrance Day in Canada:
Last year, my friend Doug a veteran of the Royal Navy WW2; sang "Let There Be Peace on Earth" our church service , as he had done for as many years as I can remember. Now he has gone to his reward. Channel mine sweepers, Atlantic covoys, the Norway campaign, Russian convoys, the Med and Sicily invasion, and the Pacific.
"Well done, good and faithful servant; enter thou into the joy of thy lord." Let There Be Peace on Earth The video notes his rank as Major....this was obviously not his naval service rank, but was his rank in the cadet training organisation that he served for over 65 years after his military service.
