I agree, as parents we worry a LOT about the little things that a kid might not even remember. That's part of the torture of being a parent, you guilt yourself about entirely too much stuff. It's unlikely a caring parent is going to doom their kid by a little bad judgment, but still, you pressure yourself because you care.
Society's judging eyes do make it worse these days as everyone wants to tell you how to be a parent to your own kid.. that they don't know anything about.
The only people that can tell what a kid should or shouldn't be exposed to are the kid's own parents, and even then each of your kids have different capabilities. Lord knows mine are different. LOL

All you can do is your best. We have a lot of tools now, like ratings locks on tv's, internet filtering etc, but as always, there's that kid whose house has lax rules that all the kids want to hang out at to watch horror movies. LOL
I give my kids some leeway, within reason, when I find out about stuff like that. Getting away with the little harmless rebellions is also part of the fun of being a kid. As long as it isn't too much. wink

On a related note, can you imagine kids today being allowed to do stuff like this? Child & Family Services would be called STAT to report the parents.

I remember when we went round our neighbour's house and watched Zombie Flesh Eaters (the Italian splattercore Zombi 2). I was maybe 10, my brother 7. My neighbours didn't have kids, this was their babysitting style biggrin

Society back then was way more robust.
Note also how empty the streets were. Sure, some of the pictures were taken in a "play street" (and playing, they did!) but today's streets are largely unsuitable (even if it were tolerated to see kids playing on the street, unsupervised) because those kids of 1954 turned our neighborhoods into parking lots.

I remember that, but of course it was early seventies, and pretty far out man....:)
Well before cinematics were available on any kind of home viewing media.

I've mentioned before trying to impress my history inclined future mother-in-law by treating her to a Cinema visit to see 'Caligula', the 'McDowell one.

Fencing club colleague of mine, a house master in a public school, mistakenly acquired 'Flesh Gordon' for and end of term treat.
