Man do I hate when you wait all year for an air show and then the weather really hampers the experience. Westfield hasn't had an air show here in 7 years, just between unit rotations for the F-15's there and construction on their ramp it just always got pushed. Had their show back in Aug, I was there Fri and Sat. Both days were pretty much warm and humid with light winds. With all the planes that now use white smoke that's a terrible mixture. Had rain over Friday night into late Sat so Sat morning was very cloudy. Of course Sun, the day I couldn't make it was freaking beautiful, blue skies and a nice breeze to clear the smoke from everyone...

Here are some of the shots I got, most came from Friday's practice day.

These two were from the open act on Sat, 2 F-15's, current aircraft of the 104th, and 2 A-10's from the IN ANG Blacksnakes, A-10's were transferred out once the got the Eagles

They were supposed to bring their Heritage painted Hornet, not sure what happened. The other Hornet was painted nicely, but he flew so high it was useless.

Haven't seen the Thunderbirds in years, was hoping for some good photos.

From Sat's sneak pass, of course a cloud covered the sun just before this pass...

Nice Dave! I know what you mean about the weather, when it's time for a big show and it doesn't cooperate - so frustrating!

You did a great job getting the exposure right for the conditions, with everything nice and clean. I really like that P-51 shot, too - great angle and good exposure for that cloudy background. My shots in those conditions always end up being silhouetted.

No single drop of rain feels it is responsible for the flood.

thanks Ken, I had a real hard time with keeping my hands steady while trying to shoot at a lower shutter speed this year. I hate when people shoot props at 1/800 and want the tack sharp image for dead props... Looks like I'll have to raise my shutter speed some as even at 1/320 I was having issues.

Supposed to do DM next March which will be a first, hopefully I'll get blue skies out there.
