Yowza!

"I have only two men out of my company and 20 out of some other company. We need support, but it is almost suicide to try to get it here as we are swept by machine gun fire and a constant barrage is on us. I have no one on my left and only a few on my right. I will hold."

Dang, in the video TG posted, that dude on foot sure looks REALLY CLOSE to the impact. If he's not very badly wounded, then the rockets in RL work as poorly as in DCS and my world is forever changed.

Dang man. Hope the one fella facing all that madness is okay. I bet the pilot and gunner feel horrible about it. I keep hearing Fred Thompson's quote in my head from Red October when the Tomcat crashes on the carrier.

Where are the range control officers that supposed to monitor the area for idiots who parked in the bombing range? You can see a bunch of civilian cars and a tent next to the area.

It wasn't on the range. Take it for what you want but reports say electrical malfunction in the fire control system.

There was only 16 squadrons of RAF fighters that used 100 octane during the BoB.
The Fw190A could not fly with the outer cannon removed.
There was no Fw190A-8s flying with the JGs in 1945.

I didn't think about that until now but you're right Top Gun. How did HUD video get out so quickly let alone at all from a Russian military training incident? Seems like there are tight controls placed on the transfer of mission data from these types of aircraft unless it was released on purpose to show it was an accident.

I'm a bit skeptical of this - seems to me Russian military would be experienced enough to know better than to carry ordnance at a civilian function, but then again dumber things have happened I guess....

would a missle arm and fire by a short circuit? Fire maybe, but arm?

Quote
military officials indicated the incident was caused by a short-circuit in the helicopter's electric system that resulted in the accidental launch of the rocket

perhaps there was a Russian politician nearby for whom the "accident" was actually meant for
