As a lazy person, I would like to find the pots with the pre-soldered cable that used to be sold through CougarWorld at Frugals for a really quick plug and play fix. In a pinch I will just have to subject my new pots to my atrophied (if they ever existed) soldering skills and hope for the best! If I screw up, I guess I will also ask if there is a source for replacement cables
Still need the throttle pot though. After a good cleaning, my Cougar pots are working well again, but I can tell by the absolute travel that they are nearing the end of the line. They lasted a good long time, so another run for that length of time would be fine with me, especially since the XY pots are like $2.50 a piece.
PLEASE DON'T TELL ME TO USE HALL SENSORS OR SOME OTHER "FAR SUPERIOR TO STOCK POTS" MODIFICATION. I am too lazy and too cheap

Cougar original (so, so) potentiometer is CTS 252A104B60NB - discontinued model.
This 251B12T104A2NB in your llik:
Has 12 mm in shaft length (B in code), original is 19.3mm (A in code). Axis diameter of linked is 5mm, no info in original pot datasheet, measure the original.
Their resistance is 10K, original is 100K.
Their electrical effective angle is 40º, original is 60º (probable OK use 40º if gimbal don't turn more than 20º for each side).
Why people suggest adapt DIY HALL sensor assembly - is more easy to do than adapt pot' when original is not available.
I could have sworn we entered the correct part number to come up with that one, but as you point out, it is NOT the right part.
The pot in the link is 100K but the shaft parameter is off would which be a disaster most likely....perhaps the 7mm difference would be OK..but I wouldn't risk it unless someone else had successfully done the substitution.
again these are obsolete. There might be an error here as I was sure that the Throttle pot had a longer shaft....and the "15" indicates 15 mm for both..
The TQS potentiometer is still available through Thrustmaster customer support. I just ordered one as part of a larger order that I placed yesterday.
The part you need is...
P/N 6000194 Potentiometer Z Axis CTS251B15F104B6NB - 12 EUR/piece
Contact customer support by using their contact form on the Thrustmaster website. Ask to order the part. This generates a case number. The case number is emailed to you as part of an acknowledgement of receipt.
You can then follow up with a phone call using the case number. You will pay by Paypal and reference the case number in the Paypal comments section.
The replacement Z pot is sold without the wiring harness. You'd need to swap the from your existing pot to the new one.
Alas, Ernie "CubPilot" Smith died 3 years ago. CubPilot's website continues sort of as a memorial I guess. (Plus his website still has good information on it.)
To my knowledge, no one is currently marketing a set of 'drop-in" hall sensors for the Thrustmaster. There are players out there that say they have drop-in sensors designed and prototyped but, no one has gone into retail production. For now, those who want hall sensors are building their own from scratch. There are numerous how-to's available on Youtube and the forums on making your own homemade sensors. Not what you wanted to hear, I suspect.
I know that you look for a "PnP" replacement, but Cougar mechanics allow plenty of options for DIY HALL sensor install, without need CNC or 3DPrinted parts, but using hot glue.
A pair of Allegro A1324 or Honeywell SS495A1 HALL's will cost less than one Tm CTS pot.
Or this this MLX90333 set for analog mode - 3 wires connection (in Warthog/T.16000M is set in digital mode, 5 wires connection).
Of couse none of this alternatives is "plug and play" - required weld wires in connectors.
About 12 years ago I ordered a bigger batch of these pots to my Cougar (from CTS Europe). You are in luck because I still have a few them around. I can help you out with a pair. Send me your shipping address in pm and I will post them.

WOW!! Thank you for the wealth of information. I am accepting the generous offer of some mechanical potentiometers, but perhaps I am brave enough to try one of these Hall sensor mods someday!

i Also search for the potmeters / Halsensors for my cougar stick, it seems Miles isnt not reacting anymore. Is there also anyone who has spare potmeters what can be missed?
