Definitely a lot more traffic Northbound I-75 through Hillsborough county, lots of RVs. Gas still problematic. TGH & Moffit/USF area 50/50 chance of stations having gas. Heard from someone in coastal Pasco that all but one or two stations in Port Richey area were out as of last night.

hope all you Floridan's stay safe and if on the eastern side of Florida aren't going to ride this one out. With my brother living in the Key's for 15 years and living through Andrew, he's very worried and watching this storm intensely. Unless you're going to the western part of GA it almost seems like AL might be the better place to flee. I read that Atlanta Motor Speedway is opening their camping area to people fleeing this storm. Looks like they are far enough west and inland to not be as bad.

Stay safe, PM. I have friends in Hollywood who have elected to stay home despite the mandatory evacuation. He says he's not worried, their house is all concrete and has been there since 1940. I respect his decision but sure your house has been there since 1940, but no one has ever seen a hurricane like this one before.
So I hope they make it through OK, and that you do too.

The 11 AM EST updated projection. More east, better for me, bad for others.

Yea Jim not sure what to think about that, hehe. From the news this morning they're saying if Irma hits S. Florida that they can expect a 10 to 20 ft storm surge. Also they mentioned that Hurricane Andrew that hit Florida in 1992 had an eye of around 12 mi across, whereas Hurricane Irma has an eye closer to 30 mi across Hurricane Irma Power Outage Predictionhttps://scontent-dft4-3.xx.fbcdn.ne...7da5e6d5d95b3e39619a0838&oe=5A4DFAD8Miami Beach Mayor calls storm 'NUCLEAR Hurricane'Beach Mayor Philip Levine was asked what he thought about residents who were refusing to leave by CBS Miami news. A friend of mine just drove from Inverness, FL to Gainesville, FL for a VA appt. He smartly took the back roads north and then took I-75 south home. He said from as far north of Gainesville as he could see to as far south of SR 44 as he could see, I-75 North is bumper to bumper gridlocked. Barely moving if moving at all.
Ze panzer Armee is gonna run out of gas,
Funny thing is, the route my friend took to Gainesville was great he said, and you can take that road to freakin GA and beyond.
