I'll be buying it. I'm closely following its development on Steam.

Is that BSG MMO still around or did that die a while ago?

A few years ago as a console gamer I'd have jumped on that. Now, I'm spoiled by Steam sales unless its a well documented big release. Looking forward to some videos that talk me into not waiting.

I am in the middle of a massive case in D.C. so I won't have much time to do much playing, but came home for a bit and played the first tutorial. It's pretty freaking fun.

Ok, yeah, this looks pretty awesome.
Mack describes it as a simultaneous turn based version of Battlefleet Gothic Armada, which is a good sign. Only problem with BGA is that it's a bit dry and repetitive.
This seems to also add a bit of SW Empire at War, one of my all time favorites.

The capper: the real time cinematic replay. I LOVE GAMES WITH THIS FEATURE! More need it!
EndWar had it, Over G had it, Ace Combat had it. SW EAW had it during the gameplay, like Order of War did. It adds to much to a game.

I'm just concerned about the length of the game and if there is enough variety of ships to keep it interesting. Clearly they've got to involve more fighting ships than we saw in the shows, some shown in the video. I hope they're good!

What I find odd is that you can only play as the Colonials. Why not include the option to play as the cylons as well? Maybe that will be included in a future DLC. smile

Yeah, that would be fun too. I think you can in BSG Online.
I saw a gameplay video of that recently and it looks a lot better than I remember it. Had a very cool massive battle going on.

*You can in skirmish, just not the campaign.

picked it up yesterday and tried a few skirmish games. I had a slitherine coupon laying around so got it for around 30 bucks

too early to make a call yet but had some fun. put a fleet together, turns play out combat-mission style and then you issue new orders. graphics good, sound and music EXCELLENT

hopefully will have more time tonight to try the campaign mode

Played a bit today....Great fun!!!

This is all autocam footage of the actual game...not cinematic but an autocam replay of my commanded battles.

Sounds like a great game.
I'm a flight sim guy....but once in a while a regular game tickles my interest.
This sounds good.

But I hate STEAM.
Wish I could just get the disk.

Am I right to assume this requires a lot of micromanagement? Or can certain tasks be automated? That is the one thing holding me back from buying this.

The gameplay videos make me think of the tabletop game X-Wing.
