I found I really enjoy the recumbent stationary bike. Far more comfortable and also works more muscles. I start every workout on it for 45 minutes. If I don't have time to do the other machines after, I'll do 60. I'm not watching the miles though, I'm just staying at 150bps on the heart rate monitor after a few minutes of warmup. Then I adjust the level.
I wish I was seeing results like on the tv shows, but then I'm not trying to kill myself in the process and then fall back into bad habits.
Consider some interval training, specifically High intensity interval training (HIIT), it has benefits over simple steady state training, and may just be the change you need to kick on from where you are, to your eventual goal. Now, when you go and google "HIIT" you're gonna get a load of conflicting results, however this seems like a decent link http://www.active.com/cycling/articles/high-intensity-interval-training-for-beginners
Personally I do 10 min warmup (@150bps and 95RPM) on the bike then, 1 min max effort (@110RPM increasing resistance too) and 1 min recovery (at 95 RPM & the same Resistance as the warmup), for the next 10mins - by the end I'm in heap of sweat and gasping. It does more for me in 20mins than an hour would at a steady pace. It feels great, initially though it is tough so build up slowly.
I'm going into stubborn mode the next two weeks (until my Bday) as I've hit the damn 80kg again. Summer is difficult, as I find that socializing in the evenings usually means food everywhere...
The recent heat wave had the opposite effect on me, almost like an involuntary Ramadan. With these high temperatures, and especially the humidity (thanks to the Alps being in the way), I mostly didn't eat, or very little, during the day. Just not hungry. Drank a lot, though.
For quick results, there's this "military diet" thing. It does allow you to eat normally on some days, whereas you only eat smaller amounts of high-protein, low-carb stuff (Hüttenkäse/Cottage Cheese, for example) on three of four days. During those days, make sure that your calorie intake is lower than what your body can "burn away".
Why men throw their lives away attacking an armed Witcher... I'll never know. Something wrong with my face?
It still blows me away (and that's no exaggeration) what foods I enjoy eating that I wouldn't have touched just 10 years ago!
I hate cooked cabbage (unless it's in a fried egg roll) but one day, in the last couple of years, my mom wanted me to try it a different way. She cut a cabbage in 1/4" slices, pasted it with olive oil, black pepper and garlic powder (I believe) and cooked it in the oven until the edges were slightly burnt. Oh man, I loved it! I couldn't believe it!
We do the same with Brussels Sprouts (little nastier cabbages). In fact, I just came into the kitchen and grabbed the bowl to munch on a few as I checked the board. They're freaking delicious (see pic below)! And if you want to be a little bad, you can dip them in a moderate amount of BBQ sauce (preferably without HFCS). I use chopsticks so as not to get carried away.
After mom's cabbage, I make it a point that no matter what my wife or mom cook, if it's something that's known to be healthy, I'll try a sizable bite with an open mind. Normally my opinion about a food doesn't change, but sometimes it does. And although rare, sometimes I find I really enjoy a food that I'd always hated, but prepared a different way.
I also really dislike cooked spinach (and I've tried it recently) but I have no problem substituting lettuce with raw spinach.
++++++++++
Wife and I are Coonasses, we're gonna eat! We'll compromise with healthier dishes most of the time while paying attention to portion sizes, but "going on a diet" or "juicing" or whatever, would never work for us. Being able to enjoy Brussels Sprouts like candy was a great find for us, anything that's healthy but still satisfying (not a raw celery stick...lol) is a real plus and I'm always looking for something new to add to the grocery list.

The program I run on the bike does that, the high contrast resistence, but I do the hills. I'll take a look at that. I'm doing this for the cardio and burning cals, the weight machines for the workout. I'll check out that link, thanks! Went to the gym 6 days last week. Hope to keep that up. Bike every day for 45 min, a 30-45 minute workout on alternating days. Legs/ab/lower back one day, two days later arms/abs/chest/upper back the other. It went better than expected! I find I can do abs a lot as that recovers quickly.
Didn't think it was worth logging in to post in this thread at the beginning......but you've really surprised me Moses!!! Most just get on and off diets all their lives, without any results. But YOU.
Now I'm paying attention.
Congrats to your accomplishment. Probably one of the hardest things to do, change your shape and with nothing but will power. Gotta say, very impressive man.
Keep at it. If you fall, get up. No matter what, get up........
Seriously, kill it. You're probably already feeling the benefits, best wishes to get even farther down the road. It's not easy, but nothing worthwhile is. Your goal is certainly worthwhile.

Great job, that's a HUGE shrinkage of waist, and really shows in your face! Nothing like getting into smaller clothes.
Wife and I did a huge multi-sized clothes shopping last December in Atlanta (Goodwills and thrifts, much nicer than the ones we have), but we haven't yet reached our smallest sizes. Still, it's fun pulling out the clothing containers every so often just to see where we're at and what we can fit into.

Look for me on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook or Tic Toc...or anywhere you may frequent, besides SimHq, on the Global Scam Net. Aka, the internet. I am not there, never have been or ever will be, but the fruitless search may be more gratifying then the "content" you might otherwise be exposed to.

We're all very proud of you!
It's easy to think that "it's just the Internet" here at SimHQ in the same way that Facebook is (with basically prostituting posts looking for a "like'), but that ain't quite so.
Folks here have to actively seek out how you're doing - because we actually give a damn.
Keep on keepin' on!
