If Jamie is captured, I think Tyrion will do whatever he can to have him let go. He has class 12 plot armor, definitively. He could serve as emissary to Cersei, but how will he believe Jon? Until there are actual White Walkers beyond the wall, Cersei has no motivation to do anything. You heard her say her goal is to have control over every single person on Westeros, not save them. What are they to fear? She does not have dragons, but she has Wildfire.
i do not see any diplomacy happening. Think about how much difference and antagonism is between these two sides. No way.
Cersei would rather ask for Tyrion's head before she agrees to allow the Targaryen to steal her throne. There is no love or justice there. She will not care if Tyrion killed Joffrey or not, he still killed Tywin. Littlefinger is a traitor on her eyes too, and even if she sees Sansa as a non-threat, she was never on her side when Joffrey was torturing her psychologically. Sansa will never make peace with Cersei. Arya will never make peace with the Lannisters after the Red Wedding and her father's death.
I think the decisive battle with the White Walkers will not happen until winter reaches King's Landing. That would mean the North forces will be defeated and pushed back to the south.
Littlefinger might not be dead, but he knows he is being outclassed. Sansa does not appreciate his counsel, Arya is a one woman assassin's squad, and Bran is Charles Xavier. Not good news for the Starks. In this series, any hero with the upper hand is usually ripe for a fall.

Tyrell banner commander (cant remember his name) told Jamie that the gold was already safely past the gates of King's Landing. Randyll Tarly Father of Sam "Cleaner of Bedpans" Tarly and Rickon [ Dickon...snicker...] Tarly. And the only man to best Robert Baratheon in battle (as commander).

"You missed it..."
Damn....I did, too. I thought the gold was lost in the attack. Although now that I think of it, gold wouldn't burn, so.... So much for me being glad that Cersei lost her chance to pay her debt to The Iron Bank. It's annoying how things keep working out for her. Can't wait for her to get it.

That guy was Randyll Tarly, Sam's father. His sidekick is his other son, Dickon (a name that made Bronn - rightfully - snicker), is Sam's "jock" brother. Did anyone see if he or Dickon made it during that battle? If not, I assume Samwell would be the next Lord of Hornberg. I guess something might yet happen with that gold. That bankster from Braavos seems highly suspicious to me. Well, in any case, Cersei will need something really bad happening to her to even consider listening to Dany/Jon and the White Walker thing. I don't believe simply having Jamie as a hostage would be sufficient to convince her. Maybe the gold disappears and the Iron Bank does not consider the debts to have been paid, so no further credit, which in turn means Cersei's war would be effectively over.
Why men throw their lives away attacking an armed Witcher... I'll never know. Something wrong with my face?

It's been a great season with every episode moving the plot forward so much...
Just one major thong that bugs me...Dany why would you not use your dragons for some surveillance and spy on some troop movements.
She could have been flying up in the air in relative safety. Oh some ships here...hey Castle Rock looks pretty empty...Oh there is a big army marching to high garden...etc.,
Seems some basic warfare strategy. She wouldn't even be placing herself in danger. Just flying way in the air looking around.

In Season 5, she had to lock up her dragons because even she is their mother, they still governed by their basic instinct to eat and burn. Much like the Dothraki, she can do little to control their bloodlust.

That was season 5..,by now she is fully mastered riding to the point where she is doing aerial maneuvers and dive bombing a caravan. I am sure she can fly around. They are also flying around dragonstone on their own without any supervision

Also, why not immediately run to the scorpion as soon as the dragon was spotted? And why would that even need to be ordered? I'd say they were in a state of complete shock at actually seeing a dragon. And seeing a khalasar come riding through the flames to kill everyone who isn't being turned to ash probably had something to do with it, too.

Great episode, but it seemed like Dany teleported her army to get there to engage Jaime. One minute they were totally surprised about how easily they took C Rock, due to no intel about it...next thing they knew exactly where Jaime's army was and rushed there to fight. Clearly some time had passed, so I guess Jon has his glass, but they could have covered that better than telling Theon "the queen isn't here." Still, a fun episode and the most fun season to date with all of the reunions.

Even the best written shows have to use "plot magic" from time to time in order to make things happen and to move the story forward. Some shows just use it a lot more than others!

I read somewhere that because of the magic spell over the wall that the white walker army has to march towards the sea and go around it? Is that accurate as per the books?
