These wackos have been around a long time. I remember seeing protestors outside a supermarket where I worked part time as a teenager holding up signs stating that having live lobsters in a fish tank was cruel.

Plants are living organisms too. It's been proven that they can differentiate between different types of music. Maybe he should boycott anything coming from a plant too. Ripping that Tomato off the vine must be agony for that poor plant.

Having a young child actively involved your own little fantasy of "aren't I so virtuous" is just wrong. So wrong.

These folks don't know their Bibles. God does allow the eating of animal flesh and its all throughout the Old and New Testaments. However I suspect that it does not matter to these people and whatever organization they are aligned with. I suspect had the fish in been in a bucket when they walked up that they would still have started a fight regardless. The people harassing the two guys fishing seem to be trying to lazily throw scripture at them in an attempt to defend their ideology which happens to be completely unscriptural. Nephilim is right. We aren't in the garden any longer. Robbster is right on too. Plants are living organisms as well. Life is not free. There is sacrificed life to one degree or another where ever life exists. Since they attempted to use the Bible to attack a man fishing I have to speak up and say that they either are not what/whom they claim to be or they are misguided in a big way. Either way they are in error. How would they respond to Jesus Himself and His fishing buddies? I for one would, with great thanksgiving, eagerly sit by His side, be with and listen to Him all while eating our catch of the day. Wouldn't get much better than that for me.

I agree LB4LB. Very wrong to bring kids in on such a quarrel with an adult and stranger. That's not leading your children in the way they should go in my opinion. Jesus also has a harsh warning for those who would be a stumbling block when it comes to children.

My $0.02, and a slight bit of playing devil's advocate here...

I love fish and I love to fish, however...

If I'm going to keep my catch, I'm either going to bring a stringer to keep them in water until I'm ready to leave or I'll throw them into an ice chest, assuming I don't want to get messy cutting it's head off while I'm still fishing. I assume none of these options would have really made the wackos happy, but maybe make them less confrontational. But I'd still do one of those options even if no one else was around, not that I think the fish really cares. smile

I kept thinking he was going to get pushed over the side of the bridge. He should be careful walking up on someone casting, he just might get snagged by a hook.

I'd have felt better if the title described "Activists approach fishermen and get their teeth knocked out".

If they want to be activists then they should choose something truly significant like ending the sex slave trade or the drafting of child soldiers. Instead they choose to get all bent out of shape over two guys fishing.

They could put their energy to good use by trying to stop the abortion killing of human life instead. Their attitudes and methods though are still incorrect. They are in the wrong in so many ways.

I'd have just knelt down and put my knife through it's head. "There. No more suffering. I didn't want him to have to listen to you anymore."
If they were serious about it, they'd pull their front teeth and have molars implanted. That would show everyone they meant what they're saying!
I'm VERY impressed with how patient those guys were.
