I just had something like that happen to me. WOFF has been working just fine for several months.

Now all "icons" associated with WOFF show up on my screen a blank "black & white", and none work.

The small info states "the shortcut does not work. Lnk refers is unavalable.Insert disc with internet resourse is avalable and try again.

I have NO Idea of what to do.

Those of you that know me know for sure I am not a GURU and am in deap DO DO with this situation.

HELP

Hello Packham,
can you try this file as a hotfix:
simulation.xml

Packham, I will let you try this fix ( simulation.xml ). Good luck with this --- to me it looks way past my understanding.

What I want to know is why and how we got in this situation, and just how good is this fix??

All of my other games are doing just fine. As I said before ALL of "WOFF" links do not work.

Thanks JJJ65 for helping out. I know you were at the WW 1 event in Ohio, but I forgot your name.

THANKS

If it always did run well I would considder an reinstall of Woff or let Windows going back to the restore date when it did run well.

Do not forget to use the backup utility before doing any action.

Sounds like some sort of file corruption.

Follow section 17 step by step in the FAQ. Clean unstall/ remove all traces of WOFF and reinstall as per those instructions. and turn off AV, if you have "lost" all files maybe your Anti Virus removed them?

It seems all your xml files are corrupted (empty). Taht may happen during crash. You have two possibilities:
1) Restore all xml files from backup (if backup exists), or
2) Reinstall WOFF UE

@Packham
For WOFF backups you must install and use Robert Wiggins's backup utility, available here WOFFUserFilesBackupProgram .
The wipe-off of your xml files was caused by crash, not antivirus. It can happen (I have experienced it either) and that is why I recommend you to use RJW's Backup utility.

The backup utility is on Sandbaggers mods page. Don't forget to read the accompanying "Readme" file for instructional information.

All good now, the "plug in" for my SS hard drive had become loose -- pluged it in snug and All Is Good. WOFF is alive and well in side my computer.

Maybe it was too good to go on ...my win 7 crashed after wake up from hibernate, resulting in complete crippling of WOFF beyond repair (I tried the simulation.xml solution) . Unfortunately I couldn't get the backup utility to work , it didn't find my WOFF install. Bitter mistake. What files or folders should i copy manually to prevent similar disasters in the future ? Thanks in advance. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™

Try to locate your backup folder and copy the files to WOFF UE manually. Robert can pobably point you to location of your backup folder in case of problem.

Just came across this thread. Sowercrowd, you say you couldn't get the backup utility to work. Can you be more specific about where your WOFF install is located and where your "MyWOFFSetupFile" and "WOFFBackupProgram" folders are located? Please provide a screen capture of the directory structure. We should be able to resolve this.
PM me.

Thanks for your assistance, gentlemen. However , i have to admit i was to stupid to backup BEFORE the crash ....but i just rebuilt everything from scratch . My WOFF isn't installed on "C:\..." but on "E:\OBD\Wings over Flanders Fields_UE\..." (sharing a samsung 850 Evo ssd with a big IL-2 1946 mod install) and i presume that path can't be set with the backup utility. Never had a BSD after hibernate and i strongly hope that it will remain a single occurrence, as the effect on WOFF seems to be devastating ๐Ÿ˜ฐ. So i'd definitely prefer doing a backup manually ,if i knew how to.

EDIT...just found the answer in the readme of the backuputility. ๐Ÿ˜Š
