Get both - they are a bit different and cover different theaters and time frame. Since CloD is very cheap ($2.49 - STEAM sales), don't impact in buy BoS. Both has small (relatively to il-2:46 'hay days') online activity.

CLOD for a couple of bucks!? Get it but don't play it. First grab all of the Team Fusion mods.Then install them. Then, and only then, play CLOD. It's very good. And the new mod being worked on, 5.0, will bring us North Africa. Updates look terrific.

Just install CloD through STEAM - as normally required, then ability STEAM Beta, TF patch/mods is automatically installed by STEAM.

IL-2 BoS "standart" = 8 planes IL-2 BoS "premium = 8 + 2 "collector planes" (Fw 190, La5) that can be bough individually. Same for BoM and BoK (map not released - but some planes, like Spit, HS-129) Can play SP offline campaign scripted, done be 3rd part or PWCG (based on Red Baron/RoF campaign system) both freeware and some payware by 777. More detailed information there: https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/forum/111-scripted-campaigns/CloD SP is more poor - two bad done official campaign scripted, but no track of player or squadron members and few done by 3rd part, the only SP campaign maker that remain active recently is Piper Kiew, who use templates of oficial campaign, CloD has survive this years after his official "death" (2012) due the MP activity, namely ATAG server. New hope with incoming TF 4.50 patch and 5.0 (payware) next year.
