Ok, I'm a little curious about the new game show remakes such as "To Tell the Truth", "Hollywood Squares" and "THE GONG SHOW" of all things. I thought we were really done with that one, being replaced by the TALENT shows.

Is it just a continuing running of "The Price is Right" and "Family Fued" that made them go "Hummmm Money to be made here"? or are they hoping to bring some of that nostalgia back.

There is even a new Hip Hop Hollywood Squares. There is an obscure cable channel that shows old games shows from the 70's. Makes you wonder what's next in the great decline of cable TV, dash cam shows? They lost me at Ice Road Truckers.

The Gong Show's gimmick of having Mike Meyers act like some British personality is just dumb, in my opinion. It's like they know the show isn't enough on its own. They brought back Match Game too.

Yup. When History Channel started airing those reality shows (I forget the other ones), I started losing interest in watching television. Now I'd rather listen to my headphones or stereo.

The only game show I have ever enjoyed watching is "Jeopardy". All of the others are just dumb to me.

I assume these are on at night? Like that celebrity game night etc.
On one hand at least they aren't more reality shows or talent/singing/dancing crap.
On the other hand, it's just more cheap prime time programming to save money.
That Plinko game is the worst.

I even saw an ad where they're bringing back Battle of the Network Stars. That hasn't been done since Thats Incredible and Love Boat were on.

We do watch Ninja Warrior sometimes. On the celebrity fund raiser show Stephen Amell of Arrow killed it.

Ah so that's what he is doing since his film career died out.

Well, he hasn't done it yet because I don't think it's been on, and I certainly don't expect it to last long, so he better come up with plan b...

Why not recycle them?

They were all dead simple, easy to watch, inexpensive to produce, and harmless.

Some shows, like The Price Is Right, is still on.

But please no Newlyweds Game. It this age of SJW glorification, do we really want to see all the odd combinations of genders/identities/etc. paraded for both exploitation and as a means to present a gross exaggeration of what is representative in who actually marries whom?

Speaking of game shows, how come Steve Harvey doesn't kiss all of the female contestants on the lips like Richard Dawson did in the original "Family Feud"? LOL

I wasted so much of my childhood watching game shows I even contemplated becoming a host some day. I can't watch them anymore. But my favorites were...

Chuck Woolery's Scrabble
The Price is Right
Wheel of Fortune
That Pyramid Show (for some reason)
The Dating Game (also Chuck Woolery)

And there were others. But I think of Scrabble the most for some strange reason.

On a related note, this is one of the funniest Youtube videos I've ever watched,
