There other day I actually tried to watch "The Creature from the Black Lagoon". Wow, was that cheesy. Think I'm going to have to watch the original "The Blob" next.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, last Tuesday. After a long while, the first film set in the MCU that I actually really enjoyed. Maybe because I saw a funny, character-driven, entertaining film, written by a real screenwriter (and not a marketing board) .
Why men throw their lives away attacking an armed Witcher... I'll never know. Something wrong with my face?

That's a classic monster movie. I actually own the 3d version of it!

Hell yes watching Independence Day just an old enjoyment movie Hookie as hell but a good watch "The Truth is out there" right PM ??
That's a great dumb movie to watch sometimes, right up there with Starship Troopers.
Starship Troopers isn't dumb though. It is intelligent social commentary. Don't believe me? Read up on it.
The humorous part, however, is the movie as the antithesis of Heinlein's original vision. Verhoeven distorted the message, but he managed on passing off a meaningful one of his own in the process.
Guardians of the Galaxy vol II. I did enjoy the characters. There were a lot of funny campy moments that had everyone laughing. BUT, I think they could have chopped off 15 minutes of the film. The whole push the correct red button/tape scene dragged on ridiculously. A few other moments took me out but as a whole I enjoyed it. Liked it better than the first one.

Netflix original anime movie "BLAME!". Based on a Japanese manga, it is not as deep as the books, but it is a good light, action-packed intro to the characters. Basically, another take on a "Yojimbo" type character/story. The animation is top notch.

Also, got the Logan BR disk a few days ahead of when I was expecting it in the mail. Such a good movie on a second watch. Makes me wish all X-Men movies were made like this.
American Gods on Amazon, first three episodes. I think I need to put my eyeballs back in.
Weird, stylish, visceral and explicit, it's a bit like Watchmen crossed with Twin Peaks. As a mythology junkie, I love all the references to the various gods and religions.
It feels a little disjointed as it introduces new characters in their own self-contained stories, but I can see that they are being brought together. I can't wait for the next episode.

I'm currently watching the TV miniseries "Wagner" which originally aired in 1984. Richard Burton plays the lead role of Wagner and he was simply amazing. What a tour de force!

Just watched the first/second episode of the new twin peaks series.
Maybe its my own fault for getting hyped and being a massive fan of the original, but I really hope it kicks it up a gear or two for the remaining episodes as TBH it was as dull as dishwater.

I just started to watch Fargo. I loved the movie and felt the series wouldn't do it justice so ignored it. At the insistence of my brother I reluctantly started watching season 1 last night.
Ok,it's pretty good. Actually it's very good. I was a little surprised at the casting of Martin Freeman as Nygaard but he's making a fine job of it. Billy Bob Thornton is great too. Hopefully the series remains at a high level, because after the first 2 episodes I'm hooked.
