Hard to say. There is not a mega ton of arty. I mean its there but not like some of Muis where its by the metric butt ton. The times the US had mortar batteries it was trying to clobber my tanks and all my soft stuff was out of sight. Where the halftracks with howitzers popped up I had a massed tanks and those again took all the fire so no indirect fires really going on my soft stuff. Arty spotters however still are dumping shells in low spots around the map. Sometimes they get lucky but its blind. But certainly less off screen arty following around tanks. It happens still but not like in Muis. Or so it seems.

For artillery shooting (especially howitzers, mortars, etc.) do not need LOS at all. Moreover, in most cases, artillery fires to those places that it is physically impossible to see from its positions. This provides the difficulty of its suppression by the enemy. Moreover, by shooting one point you can transfer the fire to another, not visible to the observer (the spotter). Similarly, artillery works in our games for the player and for AI. And this moment will always remain so, only the form can change.

As for the density of artillery. In Tunisia, it is physically smaller amount (part of the division artillery), while the area is larger, and the density of troops is less. At the same time, American artillery is practically inefficient, due to problems in troop management and communication..
In a Mius, at 3-5 times smaller territory, the artillery of the two armies is concentrated. Naturally, its action is much more significant. Actually, this was the means that allowed the offensive, the rest of the troops were finishing off strong points and survivors. It's strange to complain about her action in the game.

Right. That is why I have posted on several forums about the difficulty of using indirect fire assets. On Graviteam's forum you acknowledged that there was an issue with line of sight being too restrictive and that you guys had intentions to address it in an upcoming update. I was simply asking if that change had taken place for the new game.

I didn't complain about anything concerning Tunisia. Concerning Mius, I have complained about two things concerning artillery: 1: difficulty bringing artillery to bear because of restrictive line of sight criteria. 2: The impression that the ai is not bound by such restrictions...i.e. The ai seems to be able to use its ability to fire at suspected troop concentrations to effect devastating counter battery fire (using its off map artillery against the player's on map artillery.).

I love your games. I think they're the most realistic rts games I have ever seen. Don't take these criticisms as insults. In most games, they wouldn't even be worth mentioning. It is only because Graviteam is so realistic that these inaccuracies stand out so vividly. Its totally something fixable, too, which would make these games even better than they already are.

Nice to see a new game in a different setting. Day one purchase for me, like the previous titles.

One thing I wish the games had is the direct control of units, even if it was limited to a couple of tanks and some anti-tank equipment. Lets say a mix of RTS and first person tank combat as in SF1942 and Steel Armor, with you choosing to control any (controllable) unit, change units, etc. Kind of like Men of War, but with the direct control being in the form of a simulation, as stated above.

Because mainly they are not really any in this region. Its brush, grasses and cactus. Well actually oak trees too but not so much here. Oh and olive trees. Those are a tad more north in the Dorsal's. Sidi bou zid is just South of those. Arab and French sorts did plant palm trees in places like Tunis, Bizertte and smaller towns. But on their own, palm trees do not much like high deserts. Probably just too cold in the winter for them.

Northern bit of battle area... well I think so, its in French.

Most games over the years have gotten Tunisia SO wrong its not funny. The Dorsals are closer to looking like Southern Italy and this area looks to me like Arizona. While the southern bit is totally dried out desert that is not all that much different from Libya or Egypt. But not here.

The types of vegetation depend on the climatic zone, not from the continent.
In Tunisia, several climatic zones: subtropics (where palm trees are one of them, is much more northerly than the area of combat that is in the game).

In the game, combat takes place in the semi-desert (arid), in the floodplain of the river. Those. There will be marshes, cacti, vegetation predominantly narrow-leaved and with needles.

You probably confuse these places, with the coast of Libya. There really is often palm trees and sand. But Libya this is not Tunisia.

US campaign is REALLY good for experienced Muis/GTOS/K43 players. Having a blast fighting Sidi Bou Zid not stupid and it looks like for the win too. But obviously I had a beta version and somehow dumped 124 hours in so far.
