Hi

I would like to visit some of the "best" WWI museums in Europe, but where to start?

My main interest is aviation but I'm also interested in ground war equipment as tanks and cannons etc. used by Germany, Britain and France in that order.

What would you recommend?

Best Regards

Thanks for the tips, much appreciated! smile

Are there any German planes at Duxford or in the Shuttelworth collection?

Has anyone visited Musée de la Grande Guerre du Pays de Meaux and what is your opinion about it?

Hi

If you are in London, RAF Hendon is well worth a visit.

Nord, France.
At Brussels, there is the Musée Royal de l'Armée et de l'Histoire Militaire, which is quite huge, they have a great aviation hall, with RE8, Bristol, SPAD, Hanriot, etc...They also have a tank area (which I have never visited).

Hi Per,
Good to see you here.
Certainly the RAF Museum at Duxford and the Shuttleworth Collection at Old Warden in Bedforshire. Check out their website as they often have flying days.

I just visited the RAF museum in Hendon (London) a week and a half ago. They are currently showing a special exhibit on WW1 in the air. Exhibits (restored and replica) include: Alb DV, Pup, Camel, SE5a, Caudron G3, FE2, BE2, RE8, Tripe. Very highly recommended -- and free admission!!!
