Not a terrible operating system, but too naggy and restrictive. Also, many promised features never made it to final release.

I skipped this for my PC's, but had to support it on a large manufacturing plant... (wow 10 years ago...how time flies).

Loved all that extra comp when we had to come back in a rush to change it to Windows 7 three years later, because Vista was not compatible with their new finance software.

Not unexpected. Worldwide, Windows 7 is still running on almost 50% of computers. (but hey, XP has like 12% still soooo...)

Win10 seems to have skyrocketed only within gaming and enthusiast communities. In Steam, it already has 50% dominance, While 7 is at 30% and decreasing.

I went with Vista 64 bit. It was just awful. I had nothing but problems with Creative drivers. I think I went back to XP in the end. Eventually it was sorted but it was not my favourite OS.

I can't believe they're going to stop supporting Win7 soon... seems like only yesterday when I went from XP to Win7. frown
Then again, I was in 3rd year HS and our computers were on Win3.1

Win 7 was Vista Fixed Edition. It had everything good about Vista and really none of its flaws.

Vista had huge problems with GDI objects, sound and graphics drivers... Good riddance to that POS. wink
