Some Time ago, I started a Career in Jasta 13, beginning with my favorite Plane, the chaotic Fokker E4 (moving on to the even more chaotic Fokker D3).
It is a good mix of Sight-Seeing and Action, the Air isn't too crowded (even with Traffic set to "mayhem")
I like the E4, because it's practically an overtuned Oldtimer, compared to what is flying around on the other side at that Time.
Each Patrol feels more like a Test-Run for your Mechanic... "Yeah, that was fantastic! I was able to fly it for almost half an hour before the Engine exploded! Double the Time of yesterday's Run! Maybe, we'll even manage to make the Guns not shooting off the Propeller!"
Every now and then, the E4 works without major Malfunctions, and as soon as you get used to its sometimes strange Behaviors, you are the Top Dog up there...

Yea I couldn't do it.
Pouring rain and a few degrees above freezing so I made myself a cup of hot chocolate after the work day.
Walking by my bookshelf I saw out very own JFM's books on MvR and sat down to read for a while.
So I am back to multiple careers but I will shut up now and start playing.

One plane: the MS parasol
One time period: as ealy as possible 1915
One escadrille: #49 love flying in the mountains.

But if OBD would introduce the great Belgium airforce this could be changed. ;-)

I've always had a fondness for the S.E. 5a. Dates back to looking at the side view drawing in the Richthofen's War booklet and thinking it was to best looking drawing.

But I have to say that the Pup is delightful to fly in a campaign.

I also like early Albatri with two guns. But I have to admit the reason is the two guns. If the DH 2 had two guns when the enemy had only one, I'd probably choose it.......and spin into the ground without ever firing them.

Let's pretend I got the BWOC badge to embed here.

When my first pilot, Adolph Kreigshammer was randomly assigned to Jasta 13 I decided to continue with that Jasta, taking up the date where the other left off with a new Kreigshammer using the next letter in the alphabet for the given name. I am now up to Feb 1918 with Julius Kriegshammer. I feel rather attached to the old hands, Dannenburg, Pippart, Beidt, Wolfgang Guttler among others, in the Jasta that I re-acquaint myself with when I join again with a new Kreigshammer, the day after the last one died. I find that it helps me with immersion to study what I can find on these men. Its interesting to see the changes in the unit as time goes on and they are assigned to new areas and new blood comes into the Jasta. We have just been assigned recently to JGII and morale has improved, possibly we will get DR1s soon. I guess I'll continue with Jasta 13 as one or another of the Kriegshammers until the end of the war and maybe do the same with another Jasta.

Funny this thread should pop up again as I now find myself with a 5-day weekend, a serious WOFF hankering, and a desire to fly one career. Was leaning toward real early 1917 with either 1 or 60 Squadron but I reckon I'll go to that old favorite: 56 Squadron on 23 April 1917.

Serious WOFF geekery that I even have the first "real" day of active operations memorized!
