Hey, all.

I don't know how many of you guys are into non-airplane games, but I've been getting into miniature wargaming lately, and I just finished up some late WWI Canadians I plan to use with a set of rules I found, and I figured some you fine folks might be interested in lookin' at them! They're not quite as nice as Sandbagger's gorgeous Tripehound, but I'm pretty proud of them. They aren't entirely done, yet - the miniatures are painted, but their bases are still bare. Since I've got a good two or three foot of snow on the ground, I can't get at sand and dirt to use on them. Apart from the bases, I'm not entirely satisfied with how the division/brigade patches turned out, so I might paint over and redo them, but it's tough to get small enough but still visible on 15mm scale (which works out to just a little under 1/100). Also, if any of you have experience with this kind of thing, tips are definitely appreciated - I've basically been getting by with massive amounts of Google and mistakes.

Mortuus, I was heavily into historical miniatures before I moved to Guatemala. As a matter of fact, I had to sell them off before me moved. I loved it. I couldn't tell from the photos but are you using any kind of wash? With 15's it will help you get some definition in your uniforms and also adds some shading. I was into US Civil War, WWII, Colonial period, and if you ask my wife she'll tell you I was into all of the periods. It's a great hobby and before you know it you will be drowning in miniatures. smile2

Yeah, I used a brown wash on the uniforms (I painted them Vallejo English Uniform), then painted the khaki (Vallejo again) and washed it with a flesh wash. It's difficult to see much detail in the photos, unfortunately, because the only camera I had to hand was on my phone.

Hi

I am also a keen miniatures gamer. Mostly Napoleonic and Ancients at the moment.

A few years ago I completed a large WW1 project in 10mm. It is set in 1915 at Corps level.

Here are some pics . Eagle-eyed readers may spot a couple of BE2cs observing proceedings.

Ancients always looked cool to me, but I just couldn't ever get interested in that period. I do love the look of those Romans, especially the Republican Romans.
