Did I just watch the Capt shoot the cook for burning scrambled eggs?

I hate burnt scrambled eggs,I'd have shot him as well.
This looks interesting although I do get tired of every sub game being based on German boats. SH4 was the exception but they eventually added one to that in the end.

Submarine sims only appeal to a very niche market so the developers/ publishers have to stick to doing the widely popular and well known countries like Germany and the US. Quite frankly, a Royal Navy sub sim, Italian navy sub sim or even a Japanese sub sim would have even less commercial appeal.

Yeah,I fully understand that Panzer. It was like in flight sims at one time where it seemed every one was based on the F-16. That was snooze central for me.
Now look what happened to HMS Marulken. Now a German Uboat sim. Ah well,I should be grateful for what we have, there won't be too many getting made now.

Looking great! I absolutely love all the points of view that are available from the sort of diorama, cut out and compartment view to being able to pull into a first person perspective and explore and enjoy an up close view of the modeling. I'm a bit baffled by the cook getting shot though lol. If its sort of an X-COM-type treatment or rpg element that models guys going nuts or being psychologically shattered by the stress and environment I'm all for that. Who knows what kind of crazy scenarios might happen out there and when out at sea, no one can hear you scream.

Latest dev video update from a few days back, all in simplified navigation and “auto” firing solution. This can apparently be changed in settings if you wish for hardcore, I hope so but do not know if true.
Some macro management will drive me nuts, but looking forward to everything else.

That is because the Germans were and are the masters of "U-Boote". My grandfather, who served in Kriegsmarine, said: Yay, the Italians... but you can never rely on them - as we found out the hard way (1943 he meant).
Reason? Easy: Simply follow how embarrasing every encounter of the US Navy NOWADAYS still is with German U-Boote:
Sources: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/German_submarine_U-32_(S182) "In March 2013, U-32 crossed the Atlantic Ocean in order to join exercises on the east coast of the United States. During the journey the U-Boot remained submerged for 18 days, the longest time any German submarine managed to do so, yet."

Hardly.
The US Navy Submarine fleet of WWII conducted the most successful submarine warfare campaign in history.

This always looked good to me but man its looking better and better each time. I'm intrigued by the more story or mission type elements that might help flesh out the experience such as seeing that crew member checking out that mysterious sub and another donning deep diving equipment for some purpose. Maybe external ship repairs? I also love how you have full spectrum viewing access from walking around in first person to panning out to a 3D camera view to seeing the cutout management view.

This is the only game I'm actually excited about in recent years. Not enough to Kickstart it (I don't do that sort of thing) but I'm eagerly awaiting the EA.

P-47's attacking a U-Boat out in the middle of the Atlantic? Why would they use P-47's for that scene?
