I right clicked on the attached image file and then chose the copy link option. Then I used the Full Editor and chose the Image Link button and pasted in my saved link. Not an ideal solution by any means, but I was just testing and looking at possibilities. I hope we get the old option back as this one is rather unweildy!

Here is a test.

[Linked Image]

I used a free image hosting site and I was able to post the screenshot almost as easily as before. I used Postimg.org and it's free.

Yes that works but I prefer to store them on my hard drive in stead of the xtra step of using cloud services.
What is missing is the "browse" option that used to be available.

That's true, I wonder how many others aren't pleased with this new format?

Me for one. This forum is part of my day to day enjoyment and information, and was so easy to post photos etc. Took the fun out of it so far. Sorry to say, probably won't visit as much. Banjoman, I did as you suggested, upload image, click done and post, it sent me to a SIM HQ page that said 'All of the required fields are not filled in'. Don't know what that means. And if I have one more step like you suggest with the Postimg.org I just may pass As Stache posted in the other thread regarding the new post there seems to be a myriad of techno reasons this has happened. Good I guess, but not so interesting to me. We'll see. SW

I with you guys for sure. Robert, what and who would be involved in moving us back to the CombatAce forums? Potentially I could see this upgrade if not killing our forum, severely wounding it.

Banjoman, In answer to your question, I really have no Idea. I suspect the OBD devs made the choice to move here. It may be premature to consider a move back. I thing the forum master IS WORKING ON TRYING TO RESOLVE THESE ISSUES. At least I hope so.I think we need to give them time.

Sure, that would be the best thing to do. I was just wondering how a move would happen. You just have to look at the traffic on our forum since they made the change and you will see that very few people are posting anything. Maybe people are just waiting to see how it all shakes out.

They're Calling this a format? Looks more like someone spilled their Pepsi and was like, "That's it, we'll call it a format change".

I agree, sadly. It was so much easier to post shots before. If I have to upload all my images to another site, I will probably just bother with it less as Photobucket is a PITA all by itself.

With storage limitations on these hosting sites, I also expect to see a lot more "Image Deleted" posts. That's a shame, because there are many threads, like the WOFF screenshot thread that I like to view from the very very beginning until now.

I totally agree, less viewing, less posting of images for me. Just because things change it's not always for the better. SW

OBD originally moved over here because Combat Ace went totally down and they couldn't reach any of the admins there for an explanation. IIRC (it's been a few years), that situation lasted for a couple of weeks - long enough to make the change necessary for devs in need of a forum for their product.

I hope the admins can restore the functionalities we used to have here.

I just discovered that the "attachment" feature is not available when doing PM's so the only way to get a pic in a PM is to use the "link" feature which requires your pic to be hosted. duh

I know it sucks, but I think if you use the Attachment Manager then you screenshots will stay in the thread. I know it sounds crazy but do you think if enough of us posted on the main forum they would roll back the changes.

Actually Banjoman, my point is you CAN'T use the attachement manager in PM's because it isn't there!!

I have been bringing all this up on the "Community Hall" forum at this link which is where Racer_GT has a spot for identifying this kind of thing: Community Hall Forum Link
