Hello all,any one else having a great time with the flack on the online servers ? Soon as you get in range the accuracy is unbelievable, I find it really hard to get anywhere near a target before BOOM.What super computer where they using in the 1940`s for range finding lol ? I posted here and not on the Sim forums just in case my question was miss under stood as a complaint rather than a question.

The Flak is ridiculous, totally un-realistic and makes ground-pounding a total waste of time and effort.

have to agree about flak and realistic worlds , its as if they never studied a book on the subject lol .. expert flack like that should never even be an option .. just not realistic and will be the death of the sim as a playable realistic environment
It certainly puts the dampners on ground attack. We're mostly flying Stukas online but it doesn't really matter what we fly on a ground attack mission the same has happened to me in Fw190s, Bf110s . I've been shot down once by a fighter and time after time by FLAK. I read somewhere that they have a 9K range. It's not even heavy FLAK it's mostly anti aircraft trucks. They lock on to an aircraft with totally unrealistic speed and it only takes a few seconds at most for it/them to shoot you down. In fact they've shot down 4 of us in very quick order quite a few times. I'd settle if they could tone it down to somewhere like realistic levels. It's a pity as it makes any sort of ground attack a waste of time and not a particularly enjoyable experience flying and navigating to the target for 20 minutes or more and then Boom, Boom Dead!.
Cheers

1) fly high enough and chance direction, altitude and speed every 5-10 sec.... around 5K that makes it quite safe. 2) fly very low and very fast and not in a straight line towards or away from the guns 3) have a dedicated flakbait in your group. AAA tends to get stuck to one enemy, so the one attracting the agression is to circle wide around the local draggin the flak while the others work the fields.
I mostly attack stationary targets (airbases, depots, factories) trains and ships. I used to attack tanks but it's difficult especially without fighter cover.
I fly at 2-3K as I approach the target area, looking for easiest/safest target (assuming you're the sole attacker).
When flak appears, gently weave L/R and up/down while observing where AAA originates from.
Work the outside first - avoid targets that are in the center or farther away from your point of entry, otherwise you'll have a half-dozen AAA blasting away at you.
When you start your attack, never fly in slight line to the target. I perform a curving, steep decent.
Attack so you egress the danger zone back to base - you'll have max speed. Change course every 2-3 seconds until you're out.
Sometimes I attack one or two AAA first if it's too intense, otherwise I only make on pass and go home.

Yea it's called one pass and haul ass. Hang around and you will get holes.
Taxes are my part time profession, flying is my passion.
Record on Wings of Liberty server, notice that FLAK has some delay to react to target presence and correct their aim.
Of course this flying "technique" don't work for level bomber, only for "nuisance" raids.
In early days BoX FLAK was more lethal, then due users complains what dev's did was add a delay in their "ratio of fire" - same applies for AI gunners - but seems don't find a way to tune down their aim, that see trough clouds, trees, terrain, and in case of AI gunners don't suffer G effects, "snipe" you even if their plane lost one a wing and dive done corkscrew.
You beat me to it mate, I was going to say exactly the same thing!
