Anybody catch "APB" the high-tech cop drama on FOX? I think I'll give it a chance. Like the drones, auto stunguns, cars, Kevlar body armor. Fun to see a Thrustmaster Warthog throttle teamed up with a Saitek stick. LOL

I liked the one they had, Almost Human. But no, they canceled it. Now this is just a standard cop show with cop toys. Way to push the envelope, Fox.  The Jedi Master

Yeah, sci-fi cop dramas don't count. How many of those have been on network tv in the past 20 years or so?
"Almost Human" should have been a SyFy Channel show. It most likely would have made it.

I like it. It's basically "what if Tony Stark backed the police with his tech instead of making the Iron Man armor."
Same type of character, high tech.
IMO, it's also an example of what I've said for a while: cops need more tech solutions, training and pay to make them the most effective and attract the best force possible.
The question is if a show like this can have legs. New gadgets every week can become repetitive, they need a bigger story.

Well, here are some hard numbers for you:
APB's premiere episode got a 1.5 share in the 18-49 demo. Not bad. Not great, but solid.
Episode 2 got a 1.0. That's a big drop, not a good sign. If that was the floor, it would probably be ok.
Episode 3 got a 0.8. This is a trend, and it's going the wrong way.

Successive ratings drops with the first 3 episodes pretty much guarantees cancellation within the first season or at the end of the season at the latest.

It won't surprise me if it's gone soon. I like it and I like what it says, but it probably isn't entertaining enough to last. More of a novelty.
