Sure, I could launch 8 with no problem. Launching them at the tanks in the convoy and not the trucks? Impossible. You'll get some, but any Maverick that hits a truck just seems like a big waste.

I get what you are saying, but I'm not talking about being selective regarding targets. What I mean is, because the way that Mav's are changed in 4.33 vs. 4.32, you will have to make more than one pass if you load more than 4 Mav's. FWIW, I've read that Mav's aren't loaded on TER's in RL anyway, and that carrying more than 4 is unrealistic. Also, since 4.33, Mav battery life needs to be monitored as well. IIRC, you get 1 hour of power to the Mav's w/o video, and 1/2 hour of battery life w/ video on. Some reading of the manual about this will go a long way w/ getting you acclimated. If you see anything (youtube or otherwise) regarding Mav employment in 4.32, you should disregard it, since it has changed completely in 4.33.

My first was Falcon. Yes, that Falcon. The very first one which is on GoG.com if anyone wants to try 80s flight simulators. Then I moved to Falcon 3.0. Then it was Operation Fighting Tiger, MiG-29, and Hornet in the Gold package. I also played the Digital Integration Apache. Somewhere in there was my first exposure to Enemy Engaged and Jane's Longbow. I also played the X-Wing games, Wing Commander, the Star Trek: Starfleet Command games, and Star Trek: Klingon Academy for sci-fi simulators. Those could be quite brutal and X-Wing's difficulty was legendary.
I also dabbled in naval simulators like 688i.

For that matter, why doesn't this site have a forum for science fiction simulators? I can name a few I've enjoyed. Star Trek: Bridge Commander, Star Trek: Klingon Academy, Elite: Dangerous, Wing Commander, X-Wing, Tie Fighter (X-Wing Alliance even has CUP upgrades). War Thunder has a forum here and that one hardly qualifies as a simulator. You might have a better chance getting an answer to that question here: http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/forums/359/1/Outer_Space_Simulation_&am

There is a general "outer space" simulation sub-forum the schnidrman pointed out, but I guess they're a bit too old to have a dedicated sub-forum for themselves. If you post there though, I'm sure a lot of people would chime in if they've played it in the past. I'm glad we have a War Thunder section here, but it could be a bit more active though... just be glad it's not World of Tanks!

From F-16.net The Maverick can be carried by a variety of aircraft, ranging from combat aircraft such as the A-10 and F-16 to the BGM-34 RPV, either in triple clusters or singly (on the F-5 and the BGM-34 for example). The triplet configuration requires the use of the LAU-88/A or LAU-88A/A launchers, while the LAU-117/A is the single-rail launcher. A modified version of the LAU-88/A is usually fitted to high-performance aircraft, offering a reduced-drag (as much as 45-60 percent in certain flight profiles) fairing. Other modifications to the LAU-88/A allow for testing a three-round load as a single assembly, boresighting all missiles to the piper and slaving the seeker head of a missile to the head of another missile.
F-16 Loadout
The LAU-88 triplet launchers can only be fitted to nr. 3 and 7 station, whereas the LAU-117/A can be fitted to nr. 3,4,6 and 7 station. The F-16XL is an exception: to minimize drag it carries 6 missiles on LAU-117A single-missile launchers. But like Schnidrman said, I don't think the triple config is used operationally, presumably because of drag? Each Maverick costs about $125,000 I think so firing six on a sortie is a cool 3/4 of a million. You had better take out some tanks!

I remember for the A-10C, the third missile was too close to the landing gear and could damage it when fired. Not sure why they're doing this for the F-16 though.

A little rummagin' around the net and it seems that the main reasons are structural load and the inboard missile exhaust hitting the horizontal stabilizer. Heavier stores can be carried on 3/7 like Mk-84, but the much higher drag and longer mounting throw of the Maverick installation meant more structural load during maneuver.

Came home tonight to find a dead, new PC. Suspect the power supply. Down and out for a few days at minimum while I RMA it. Had plans to go to U3, install Israel and fly MLUs or sumpin'. No kids, house to myself. Figures, don't it?

Yeah, you said it. I hope it's just a bad power supply and I can swap it out and be back in the air. But it really sucks because I spent hours on the cabling. It's so clean and purty and I find it hard to be inspired to do such a nice job again. The new PS should be here on Wednesday so hopefully I'm not down for too long.

750 watt EVGA. Hoping it's just one of those things and the new one last for years. We'll see. I can't be 100% sure that's the issue. But the LEDs on both the vid card and mobo were flashing, so it points to a bad PS.

Possible, yes. But I tested with each stick, and with no sticks, it just won't power up. And the lights on the mobo and vid card should be steady. It has to be a PS issue. I think.

No. I see no fuse and as it's under warranty I won't open it up.
