Lederhosen, That's looking really nice. (I wish I had your skills.) I did find something really useful, though. (Actually, it's amazingly useful!) There's a modeling website with scans from inside the box of the official Blue Max Pfalz plastic model here . They have two full-size scans of the decals of the model, which could be very useful for skinning. Here are those wonderful scans: I'm going to try to play around with these, but they might be useful to you, lederhosen, or others.

Jasta 34 is a good candidate... in fact.. it might be THE candidate... not many Jastas fly all three a/c you need.OvS OvStachel, Great! Thank you so much for doing all the leg work. I feel a bit guilty because I've been pretty lazy, and everyone else is doing the hard stuff! But I really appreciate it. Jasta 34 does sound like the perfect choice. (I'll change my earlier post to reflect this.) And, I'd love to get a copy of your dds file!

I found a website called The Blue Max Project. I haven't figured out exactly what it is. It looks like the author of the site loves the book and wants to create stories and memorabilia about it. Anyway, there are a few facts written there that are informative: 1. The novel begins in February 1918. 2. Stachel flies in Jasta 77, which is located near a farming village called Beauvin. 3. The website author made a map of the Jasta and the surrounding (real) Jastas and Stachel orientation flight. (This is made on a Rise of Flight map!) OvStachel, you said that maybe only Jasta 35 actually has the planes from the movie, but I checked and it looks like Jasta 12 might be better. In February 1918, Jasta 12 is located in Flanders at Raucourt which is very close to the actual (fictional) Jasta in the movie. At this time the lowest ranking pilots fly Albatros D.V. Then in March the lowest ranking pilots switch to Pfalz D.IIIa. In April and May all ranks fly Fokker Dr.I. And then in July all ranks switch to Fokker D.VII. The Pfalz D.III are used in a limited fashion, but this could always be altered in JJJ65's Mission Editor if need be. I don't know. What do you (or anyone else) think?

Honestly, go with what works. . . . So, if J34 seems to be a good fit, which I thought it was as well.. then go for it. Absolutely. I myself am firmly stuck in my Escadrille Américaine campaign right now. This whole thread here was just my inquiring for a future adventure of mine. But, yeah, we can fly whatever squadron we want if and when any of us pursue this. It'd be really nice, though, to get some skins; as I've said previously, I am just not cut out for making my own skins. And, lederhosen, your skins are looking fantastic. I'm really impressed with what you've been putting together.

Lederhosen, this is gorgeous! The Dr.I too! Please make these available for download somewhere when you consider them finished. I'm hoping the skinners will someday place all their skins in a single repository - maybe Sandbagger's new WOFF modders website? We really need a skinners upload/download site for WOFF. And not to highjack this thread, but just my comment, please you guys who are skinners, we really need some historic or historically plausible skins in certain areas like the Fokker D.II and D.III, etc. You guys who can knock these out fairly easily, please help us out with a few more options on some of these planes. If you have easy info for a historic skin, go for it! If not, and maybe easier to do, historically plausible skins are also super useful to give us a few different ride options that we can use in any squad. For instance, I found one historially plausible Fokker D.II skin in Rick's "challenge" skins pack, and it has become precious. Another one or two portable generic skins for a little more variety over the default skin would be a highly valued contribution to WOFF for some of the newer planes, as we still have a few pockets of not much skin variety on newly released aircraft. I tried to skin. Rick's tutorial is fantastic. But overall, my attempts suck, and my wife won't make me any, it bores her to death...lol

Once I finish the D.III OAW, I'll look into making some Fok D.II/D.III skins. There really aren't many historical skin for that Era because they didn't really paint planes like later in the war. I know Kissenberth and Jacobs have skins... not sure of any others. That would be fantastic, OvS!!! I didn't think there would be too many variations, but even just a few more would be wonderful. And/or aging them. Even with the same factory build, there were material variations that give some opportunities for some somewhat different looks. But I don't have to tell you about that...you're the master! I like the D.II, its a mean looking little machine. Notice, I didn't mention effective! But mean looking, yes Hoping to one day see the one with the flappers out there on the ends of the wings in a WOFF UE add-on!
