interesting assumption......I'd rather an aircraft carrier that can launch Human pilots before I see an F-14 module......Still waiting for the now defunct Coretex Designs aircraft carrier from years gone by......Now that the company has been reformed (under a different handle to no doubt avoid a Kinney Interactive situation) and have released the SA342 Gazelle.....where is the aircraft carrier that was being worked on with working ground crew which also got me an official warning for my comments on the ED forums......

F14's took part in Red Flag exercises so they're not entirely out of place in Nevada.

or make them able to be placed and "sailed" by those with combined arms over the hoover dam wall.....now that's something someone could build a mission on....maybe even old mate over at maple flag could add it to his next paid campaign...

Here's a draft.....Ships engine has died, no steering or reverse.....human pilots have to get every F-14 off the deck before the Nimitz sails over the edge of the dam wall.....being nuclear.....could add to the effects of Nevada being a past nuclear test and firing range.....massive explosion, dam wall collapses....UH-1H and MI-8 pilots (in a max of 2 of each class of helo due to no dedicated servers at this current stage and major lag for us over in kangaroo city when playing on yank servers) add maybe 6 human controlled transport trucks that have to evacuate roughly 600,000 people before the city of Vegas is flooded or wiped out by nuclear disaster.....Makes for one hell of a multiplayer mission on the Virtual Aerobatics server if you ask me....

think of it like the VEAO's typhoon...."it's a 2 year project"...So...F-14, announced in '15....I can't see it being beyond '17

Guys, Leatherneck never claimed that the F-14 would be done in 2015....

AFAIK all WSO and weapons systems still need coding, so that probably includes pilot and WSO AI as well. I hope they can do it, but it is still a lot of work left to be done.

And why do all sides talk about future products so much?
Talking about it doesn't make the product appear out of thin air. It's not Beetlejuice. Between ED announcing a FOURTH WIP map and ED moderators showing a VERY early build of a J-8II which can't possibly be finished for the next two years, we have a forum filled with poor communication decisions.

All devs should really keep their heads down until the project they're working on is 95% complete. It would save all sides a lot of time and headache

I think LN is totally capable of releasing a greatly modeled and skinned F-14 in 2017.
For a realistic FM and weapons system...not so sure

I am a pilot and my father is an aerodynamicist, so I think that gives you an idea...
I fully understand that over at ED forums you do your best to alienate anyone with RL and factual experience, in any case I think it's fair to say that anyone with a basic grasp of aerodynamics knows that a MiG-21 with a small delta wing and a TTW ratio of ~0.80 can't sustain a steady 45 degree AoA level flight, fully loaded and with 4 missiles. If you're not bright enough to understand that out of logic, then maybe you just need to read one of the available RL MiG-21 manuals. As for the inaccuracies in the aiming and weapons systems, these are also well documented (use the Search function of the ED forum).

Sure, sure, but are you a MiG-21 pilot? No? Then what makes you qualified to comment on said systems and FM?
