Brutal. One of the few popular scifi stars that didn't go through a regret phase after the show ended. He stuck with it and earned a spot on the reboot. 71 is way too young.

Me. I thought he was younger than 71.

Nixer that is cold, insensitive and uncalled for.

feeling old but surviving. went to memorial service of a man I've known for almost 60 years. he had a heart attack just shy of his 65th birthday, following a brief illness.

The endless parade of obituaries? Seriously?

This place ONCE UPON A TIME, was about escaping from reality while maybe learning a smidgen about computers, history, and maybe even life.

An obituary a day is not why I came here. nope

I'm sorry that we have no control over when and how many notable people die in a given time period.

There are those of us who would like to commemorate certain figures who have meaning to us in some way or another. But we don't insist that everyone read such threads, to those bothered by such threads I would suggest to not click on one that has a name preceded by a "RIP".

Or maybe a poll?

Yes, SimHQ is my only source of news

No, keep it to FB unless the person was truly significant in aviation/space field etc.

I will do that when it is written into the official rules of SimHQ but until such time I will post what I please within the current rules which do not preclude posting obituaries of celebrities.

My suggestion to those who dislike obituaries is AGAIN to NOT READ THEM.

How frigging hard is THAT?

He flew Vipers in Space. Sounds like aviation/space to me. RIP Mr. Hatch, so long childhood.

Don't read the RIP threads if you don't want to read RIP threads. Even better yet make a thread that's worth reading and responding to. What a thought. deadhorse I don't facebook.

Its the ideal solution if you don't have to look at an endless stream of them in topic view.
The reality is more that this is a sim forum, and there are a million other places where people have no interest in sims but would love to talk about dead celebrities.
