Some of you people strike me as crybabies or "snowflakes" looking for your "safe space".

If you have a problem with DCS and/or ED, the solution is simple. Stop crying and find something else to do.

All of the #%&*$# and complaining gets old. There are better things to discuss. duh

Boy did you just kick the hornets nest...

Anyway, SimHQ is the official complaints Dept for all things DCS. Real or imagined.

See, that's what I don't get. I've seen guys coming in here tearing DCS apart, which is fine if you've had a bad experience I suppose. But why stay and complain. Why not do something else.
And some of them keep buying the modules...and keep complaining!
They say that one of the ways to know that you are insane, is the insistence on doing the same thing over and over and always expecting different results.

This topic isn't really covering new ground...

http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/4321220/Why_is_everyone_so_negative_in#Post4321220

It seems various parties from across the opinion spectrum made their positions clear in there.

Complaining about other people complaining seems unlikely to get the apparently desired results... but you're free to try.

Don't read it, don't join the discussion.

If you have a problem with SimHQ or it's threads the solution is simple. Stop crying and find something else to do.

I only come here for my copy of 'The Daily Bile' now. Shame really, and it did get a bit better for a while a week or two back (assume some people were banned or grounded by their mom) but it is what it is.

I've read some disparaging remarks made against Wags

Was Wags not at one point a respected member of SimHQ?

This is the only place where customers can complain about DCS because EDs official stance on customer relations is to discipline customers into not saying anything bad.

This is not a joke, Wags the chief #%&*$# posted updated forum rules that forbid customers from saying anything bad about the game. The way it works is that a moderator tricks you like this:

1. Moderator deletes a post or warns you for some invalid reason.
2. Then you complain about what he did.
3. Then he kicks or bans you for weeks or forever after pointing you to a forum rule where discussing moderator decisions is strictly forbidden.

And here is my favorite topics proving it:

Quote:
So after watching the videos I am a bit concerned about the texture quality of the cockpit. Looks substandard compared to DCS or other 3rd parties. Is that going to improve because beta?

Have a read, it spirals out of control and guess where the hawk is today 2.5 years later.

Wags and the assorted moderators need to go get a real job and mop some floors. The audacity of selling overpriced flightsim modules of which at least half so far are not even up to ED standards and then telling the customer to watch his words is what makes people angry. That is why we come here to hate on DCS. Because they deserve every tiny bit of that hate.

The moral of the story: If you treat your customers like assholes then they will find other avenues to talk about your products

I figured out at LOMAC that the ED formula wasn't for me and never bought another one of their products.

It's like going to a restaurant and getting terrible food, and then keep going back for more and complaining about it the whole time. Must be the hot waitresses.

No, now go away or I shall taunt you a second time!

So start a thread discussing the better things. What exactly is the point of this thread other than crying about The "#%&*$# and complaining"?
You're guilty of exactly what you're crying about.
I don't think you fully comprehend the idea of value for money. It varies from folk to folk. What you find acceptable may not be acceptable for the next guy. Speaking for myself, I have stopped buying DCS products. I won't buy another until the products I own are finished. When that happens my complaining will stop. When that happens? Who knows? Honestly nobody knows, not even ED. And that is the problem. When a company takes your money, for a product, they should make that product a priority. When the company decides to prioritize a new product they open themselves up to the criticism that you see on these boards. They can censor their own forums but they can not hide the flaws thanks to forums like SimHQ. I have a negative view of DCS because it is, in my opinion, being run abysmally which is their right, it's their company, but once they take money from customers it becomes fair game for criticism, "#%&*$# and complaining".
The BoS forums here were full of complaints. The developers seem to have listened to those complaints and noticed the drop in sales and have acted. The buzz around BoS is mostly positive now.
ED however have their heads in the sand and their fingers in their ears while their moderators scream "blah blah blah, can't hear you"

DCS Kickstarter
Wags July 2014 "In this July 2014 update, the primary news is in regards to the restructured backer rewards. After a careful review of the older system under RRG, we found it financially unattainable."
Wags October 2017 "the investment vs. generated revenue has been excellent for the World War II aircraft. In fact, the P-51D Mustang has twice the cost effectiveness of the A-10C Warthog."

Except if someone wants to find actual, helpful information about the game, they have to sift thru pages and pages of ranting to find it. It gets old fast

Um, I believe the only one needing a safe space is in fact Wags - ED's forum is his safe space (in case you didn't notice).

As for doing something different, I fly BMS exclusively now. Except for the dated graphics it beats anything ED does hands down, and you don't have to break the bank to run it.

I do stop in here from time to time to see how DCS is progressing.

Yes...the SimHQ DCS section has changed a bit over time...just as DCS business model has changed to selling unfinished products and leaving them that way for years. So they have changed together really.

If you don't want to read critical threads about the progress of the sim or lack thereof...you don't have to read them.
