So what exactly is a whole bunch of little drones suppose to do? I can not imagine the little things being able to carry more than a couple pounds of pain. Although I get it that this is just a tech demonstration. But it begs the question of how are you going to use it? To get weaponized it needs more legs which means its no longer a bunch of little drones, but much bigger. Unless the idea is to fly hand grenades into people.....

I don't think they're designed for offense, aside from network penetration there's little they could attack. If they have sensors, though, you have this cloud painting you, which you can't hope to shoot down, while a missile flies in from another direction by an unseen assailant.

All they need to do is see and report. Remember the importance placed on downing balloons in WWI, which led to the creation of the armed fighter in the first place.
