So much of their music still sounds fresh and relevant. Thank goodness. Whatever stars aligned when Jones Bonham Page and Plant got together, you can be sure it will never happen again.

Been a long time since I listened intently to any Zep stuff but just today I picked up several Zep cd's at the Goodwill and will give them a spin soon.

every once in a while we humans live up to our potential and become brilliant. That song has lifted me up from despair more times than I care to admit.

Look for me on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook or Tic Toc...or anywhere you may frequent, besides SimHq, on the Global Scam Net. Aka, the internet. I am not there, never have been or ever will be, but the fruitless search may be more gratifying then the "content" you might otherwise be exposed to.

Yeah...I really enjoyed that. At one point it actually kind of sent chills up my spine.

It was cool to see John Bonham's son Jason on the drums for this performance also.
Ann Wilson can def knock out Zeppelin covers with the best of them, Patrick Monahan of Train is another one who can. I was actually surprised that they did not have him perform at the Kennedy Center Honors tribute instead of Kid Rock (especially considering the songs Kid Rock performed).

Not to lessen the other 3, but I've come to think that the true genius in the band was John Paul Jones. In most Zeppelin songs the bass is kinda buried in the mix, but if you concentrate on it you'll hear that he's got all the skills and chops of Chris Squire, Geddy Lee, etc. Plus, he played the other instruments that either filled out or in some cases WERE the sound of songs. The organ solo at the beginning of Your Time Is Gonna Come, Mellotron in No Quarter & The Rain Song, etc.

Wasn't it Jones who said something like "One could be the best bass player in the world, or be the bass player in the best band in the world"? He definitely had a hand in some of their best songs.

Right on NH2112 and Johan217 ... I don't even think of John Paul Jones as a bass player ... I just think of him as a musician. That's what made Led Zeppelin great ... all four members were incredible musicians and on the same musical wavelength.
I just learned last week that Jonesy is credited with writing the main riff for Black Dog! ...
