If Panzer didn't go to ANY of them that says a lot to me.

LOL Thanks for the compliment Nixer. And yeah, I saw a lot of films in the theater last year but none of those in the list.

I rented Gods of Egypt. Turned it off mid way through it. Some of the special FX I saw were OK.

I did see the Alice Through the Looking Glass one in Netflix over the weekend. It was like watching a train wreck.

I saw "Allied" I heard it was good, but I don't know because I fell asleep through it.

I rented 1, 3, 5, and 8 so far.

I will be renting 4 and 7. I didn't see any in the theater, but that really doesn't mean much considering how rarely I go now. In the 90s I saw a film every weekend almost.

Having kids and much better home entertainment technology/options will do that. smile

I liked the BFG and Alice...

Ah well.

Wanted to see Allied though!

I saw Ben Hur because my Mom wanted to see it for her Birthday. It was kind of bad. They took a three hour epic, compressed it into two hours, extracted all the character development and left an empty shell of poorly connected events and action.

I put Ben Hur under the "completely unnecessary and unsolicited reboot" category.

I've only seen bits and pieces of Gods of Egypt on cable, but like Jedi Master, I don't go to the theater much. From what I saw of Gods of Egypt, I kind of put it in the Ray Harryhausen category of movies that are not highbrow films, but maybe still a little fun to watch because of the effects.

I saw the new Ben Hur at the theater and the Gods of Egypt on maybe HBO when I had it last year. I was totally underwhelmed by both. There's just something about the epic original movie versions with lots of star power
and a cast of thousands that CGI just can't replace.

Cheers

Well I'm glad I bought God's of Egypt. It was cheaper than if we'd gone to the theater. What a waste of talent.

Still want to see Assassin's Creed, but I held off after the reviews. Saw Rogue One again instead, which was even better the second time.

Silence certainly qualifies as a total flop. The cast could have been silent for the entire film and it would have been an improvement.
