Has anyone heard anything on this mini-series from Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg that was supposed to be airing on HBO this 2017(?)

Last actual news I've seen was from flying magazine about actual filming taking place:

Starting to wonder if they bit off more than they could chew with this one Still think it would've been much "easier" for them to do a fighter group in the ETO or PTO...

I just checked the HBO website and there is nothing at all. If this is indeed premiering anytime soon, HBO would already be promoting it.

This is a film (mini-series) that I am constantly checking up on, too. I'm always looking for the latest information on it. I really hope they haven't *&^%canned the whole idea.
I don't get HBO. But if this comes out, I will subscribe to it just to watch this show!

I wouldn't at all be surprised if it didn't come out until next year.

Yay, this series is almost here! Frank (hubby) and I are so excited to see it. This is such an incredible story of the brave men who flew right into heavy German defenses day after day. As it happens, my company recently designed and manufactured some commemorative coins....[blah, blah blah, then a link....]
Yeah, now that's a commercial if I've ever seen one........we don't do that at this forum, sorry......

Its looking like this mini-series won't see the light of day anytime soon unfortunately...

With one guy writing the script its no surprise that its taking this long. These scripts also usually go through numerous re-writes.

Not going the same way as Jackson's remake of the 'Dambusters' one hopes.

Stumbled across this when viewing comments on 'History Buffs' critique of 'Band of Brothers' of which John Orloff scripted 2 episodes. One of which had the glaring error of stating that 'Hitler is dead!' on April 11th, which he explains.

Good movies are few and far between now days.
Most are just propaganda. A waste of time.

I'd wait for a 'real' movie, like Battle of Britain, Band of Brothers, or The Pacific.
I even liked 'Saving Private Ryan'.
Not much else worth turning on the tube for anymore.
Just Pravda.
