When I was young it seemed like every guy I knew had a beer can collection. I had a small one myself. Did anybody have one, or still have one ? I wonder if any of those things are worth any good money today.

I used to collect Falstaff caps for the puzzles.....

I had a friend who had a liquor bottle / beer bottle collection. He kept them on top of his kitchen cabinets. It was always cool to see something you have never tried and asking him how it was.

Yeah, that was a joke (mine). I drank the beer. Looked at the puzzles and drank more beer I did not collect the puzzles.

I was going for a "for the articles" type of joke! My wife tells me it didn't come accross! smile

Myself and my dorm mates had one in college. We eventually gave it up and built a couch out of them.

No collections, but I've drank some I wish I could get out of my head.
Like, 'Blatz'.

Worst beer I've ever had.

No... "E&B" beer, was the worst.

German beer on tap, was the best I've ever drank.
Can't get it in the U.S.

And saving kegs, would be difficult... wink

Maybe they were just big around here in 1970's. I knew people that were really into it back then.

Some other nasty beers from my youth:

Schlitz
Blatz (that's the sound you made the next day after drinking it)
Buckhorn
Weidermens
Stroh's
Goebells
Black Label
Altes
Old Style

OMG...Buckhorn..... We used to drink that in Columbus (college days, little money), was cheap, not bad taste,
but the next day you paid a price....
It's a unusual feeling when your feet go to sleep from sitting on the toilet for so long..

I did when I was a kid. Beer and soda cans.

At the beginning, when we were missing common brands, a friend of mine and I used to go to a supermarket where his aunt worked and secretly sold them to us. We would walk out with cans and cans and empty them on the curb. biggrin

Now as an adult I understand why people looked at us the way they did... Those kids are throwing away perfectly good booze!

I gave up on it, as I remember it, because of monetary restrictions. There were waaaay more brands than a 10 yo kid could afford.

When you're feeling sad, just remember that somewhere in the world, there's someone pushing a door that says "pull".

I wish I'd of kept a can of generic beer we drank in college. White cans with just one word - BEER - shoddily printed on it in black.

Amazingly enough, it wasn't bad. Somewhere between Schlitz and Miller High Life.

Ice Cold in Alex or Eating in ...
I used to collect the boxes from single malt whisky, had about 50 of them, and no I didn't drink any of them, it was just a way of filling a space and a sort of cheap advertisement, keeping them clean and dust free was a bit of a chore tho.

No, but I did have a beer mat collection a cousin from Scotland gave to me. Which I passed on to a friend and he ended up throwing away, yes, I was annoyed when he told me that.
